3 zel o 2 zavieh?
by Souri on Fri Feb 10, 2012 12:21 PM PSTThat part was really funny.
BTW, I couldn't recognize the voice of the back grand speaker. Who is that?
Not a bad program, in general. Actually I was getting tired of Kambiz. He was too nervous (jigh mizad)
Not the same
by Jahanshah Javid on Fri Feb 10, 2012 12:09 PM PSTParazit is so huge, so popular, that when the host does not show up, it's news. VOA may not want to explain what happened to Kambiz Hosseini, but the shows' millions of fans will naturally be asking what happened to him. One of the big reasons why Parazit has been so popular is because it has been honest and sincere with the audience. So it's odd when you don't talk about the elephant in the room.
Inevitably when Saman becomes the host for the first time, people will judge and compare. It's hard for me because I know and love them both, because of who they are and they're wonderful talent. I'm often biased towards Saman because he started his career as a cartoonist on iranian.com (see: iranian.com/Satire/saman.html) back in 2000. I love his humor.
But Saman's delivery does not have the same intensity as Kambiz. Saman can communicate well with Iranians who grew up abroad, but I doubt that the core audience in Iran can identify with him as well as they have with Kambiz.
This is not a competition between who's better. The show has always been best with the two working together. In fact Kambiz was at his weakest when Saman did not show up a few weeks ago (//iranian.com/main/2012/jan/parazit-mehrd...). Kamiz also had a show by himself before Parazit, and it was not nearly as popular.
So if this is a permanent change, I hope Saman becomes more comfortable and improves over time (the segment about the forgotten role of "kerevati" Nehzat Azadi people in the revolution was excellent).
And I hope Kambiz will come back with a new show too. It's not going to be the same without Saman, but... who knows. Maybe over time they'll see that just like the Beatles, Parazit's parts will not be the same as the whole, and unlike the Beatles, they'll get back together again :)
