Newsweek: It probably felt a bit like this in the months before the Six-Day War of 1967, when Israel launched its hugely successful preemptive strike against Egypt and its allies. Forty-five years later, the little country that is the most easterly outpost of Western civilization has Iran in its sights. There are five reasons (I am told) why Israel should not attack Iran >>>

REZA's CALL: "Don't Bomb My Country" say's Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi
Akbar Ganji: “Learn From Reza Pahlavi, Heir to the Peacock Throne”
You may not like what Ferguson suggests here, I don't either nor do I endorse his views on this particular strategy because I can see how it could hurt our long and short term interests and the cause of anyone who wishes to see the IRI toppled from inside but unlike clowns disguised as "experts" such as the ever clueless Hamid Dabashi or Amy Goodman, Ferguson doesn't claim to have the interests of Iranians on his mind but that of the West !
THE WEST & THE REST: Niall Ferguson on «Colbert Report» warns of America’s decline
Isn't that what any government demands from a given expert ? To advise Them and their Long Term interests and not that of their enemies ( declared or not?) !
If not then Western governments and their leaderships should seriously ask themselves who they are supposed to serve ? The people who elected them or Lobbies of Foreign Powers who are not even their allies ?
After all the Russians who have chosen to air this footage from MSNBC have no scruples when it comes to supporting their own Allies regardless of the horrors they are commiting on a daily basis:
Why China, Russia won't condemn Syrian regime (cnn)
So why Should the West have to spill crocodile tears for our country who considers them as their enemy for the past 32 years ?
The West and Europe's survival is passionately connected with that of the State of Israel. Denying that reality as the Iranian regime has been doing is both a sign of diplomatic ignorance but also of irresponsible adventurism for which it has built it's reputation for the past three decades:
HOLOCAUST A MYTH: Michelle Renouf on Iranian SAHAR TV
Whether we like it or not To date Israel is an Ally of the West and vice versa due to what happened during WW II ...
HOLOCAUST REMEMBRANCE DAY:Polish refugees leave Tehran station for Palestine (1944)
Iran under the current Regime in it's entirety ( and not merely it's current government) has yet to prove it is one !

" So Niall Ferguson is now an expert on Iran? I thought he was an expert economist. Oh that's right, he isn't an economist either. He's a professor of the history of economics...which makes his opinion here totally meaningless. What's with all these brits that look to the USA as a platform to re-inflate their dreams of Empire? I guess once your home country has lost an Empire, you've got to hitch your wagon to the next best solution--and I guess the requirement is that the country be an English speaking one."

He even threats a sitting U.S president to take an action because his entire presidency depends on that. One day, perhaps U..S will be nuked but not by Iran rather than by Israel ,and that happens if the mighty superpower, God forbids, stops acting as a poodle of Israel...
