Green Day in the Bay

Photo essay: Green Scroll in San Francisco

demotix.com: People gathered in San Francisco's Chrissy Field Saturday and marched past people hiking and biking along the beach and then up a hill overlooking Golden Gate Bridge. They carried a 2000 meter scroll which had been signed by Iranians in many countries. When the march ended, a group of people held up the pictures of people who had been killed in the protests while wearing shirts with the names of each person and how and when they died. Thanks!

Thanks for sharing Bita Jan. It was a good show of solidarity and support for Iran and for Iran's political prisoners. I am glad to see that there are many people still committed to supporting the Iranian democracy movement just as people inside Iran look to us to carry the flag for a few miles. I was touched by Saturday's gatherings in San Francisco. We must do our best regardless of the noise from naysayers.
