Fruit of the Goddess Anahita
by Ramona on Mon Sep 14, 2009 09:17 PM PDTDid you know that the pomegranate is the fruit of the much venerated Ancient Persian goddess Anahita?
Eating a pomegranate seed is also what kept the young and innocent Greek Goddess Persephone in the underground realm of Hades six months a year, resulting in such immense grief for her mother (Demeter, goddess of the earth), that she brought drought to the earth during the absence of her beloved Persephone.
There's no other fruit like the pomegranate. Its bold red color symbolizes passion; its fertile body contains the seeds of the future, while its shape is like that of a heart. Indeed, if there is to be a fruit paradise of any kind, it's the pomegranate paradise. Thanks for sharing these succulent images....
Where is this place? I like to go if still going on....
