I have not been to a rodeo yet!
by Esfand Aashena on Tue Aug 02, 2011 07:38 AM PDTHow much was the ticket? Judging from the pics I think once would be enough! Did the car make it alright cross country and did you checkout the sculpture garden's Jazz festival? I know it's been hot but az ma behtaroons still go out and flaunt more in heat!
Everything is sacred
Thank you.
by comments on Tue Aug 02, 2011 07:02 AM PDT1) As Faramarz requested " no glasses please!". You have to watch one of the present episodes of The Big Bang Theory when Rojer's sister asks Leonard to take off his glasses if he loves her. It followed with accidents because Leonard couldn't see!
2) I liked the fact you said it was a lot of fun. When you ask most Iranians what they do in their free times or what fun they have, they always puzzle.

by jasonrobardas on Mon Aug 01, 2011 09:05 PM PDTI have enjoyed following your journey through South Dakota . I drove through SD two years ago and had a great time . I suggest you also go to Mitchel which is called "the corn capital of the world " . It is just a little town with a resturant that serves the best tasting chicken and it has an impressive palace called "Corn Palace " .The exterior and all the murals on this palace are built with corn kernels. Supposedly every year the design is changed . Good luck.
The Urban Cowboy!
by Faramarz on Mon Aug 01, 2011 04:33 PM PDTThanks JJ for the pictures. You need a red handkerchief around your neck, a pair of boots and no glasses please!
There are two America’s out there and you are seeing the other one; Guns, Jesus, Trucks, Talk Radio and Blondes!
The same way that there are two Iran’s: The Iran of Green and the Iran of Black!
Lady Fatima
by Soosan Khanoom on Mon Aug 01, 2011 04:26 PM PDTIt is not just a name with middle eastern origin .... People who witnessed her miracles have lived to tell it ..... happened in 1917 ......
Our lady Fatimeh or Nossa Senhora de Fátima is the title given to the holly Mary as she appeared in apparitions reported by three shepherd children in Portugal . Mary gave prophecies and warnings to children that included a harrowing vision of hell, the spread of communism and she entreats them to say the Rosary for the world peace..... This happened during the time that Portugal was going through, anti-religious sentiment. Churches were boarded up and priests were fingerprinted, photographed and registered as criminals before being jailed.
As much as I don't like to admit , mashangy is correct.
by Mash Ghasem on Mon Aug 01, 2011 03:32 PM PDT"Cowboy " with an emphasis on the "boy," was the name originally given to balck cattle handlers, the job proved too profitable or something and it was taken over by whites. If you live in the US there's a very funny weekly cowboy show on radio you could listen to.
"Corn Palace Stampede," a name you could trust! It's fascinating with all these middle eastern names in the heartland: Persian, Fatima,..there are hundreds of them.
JJ could you recite "On the Road" while riding a horse? Your adventures are begining to remind me of my US cross country trips, while I was residing there. It was almost thirty years ago. It makes you kinda of feel old.
Ouch
