'Short & little like i' is the first book I have written in English. For a poet with whom language has played a fundamental role in his writing, and who has so far published twenty books of poetry in original Persian, it is a risk to write outside his mother tongue, but for me even to write poetry is nothing but taking a risk which gives life new meaning. Perhaps you are familiar with my poetry and have come across a poem or two or have read my books in English, but they would have all been books or poems I had written in Persian, later to be translated by Abol Froushan. This book, on the other hand, consists of short poems which I have written straight in English. The title pays homage to e. e. cummings who was the first poet I read in English. Nevertheless, the very simplicity of its language, induced by my limited vocabulary and missing mastery of English, has increased the role of the evident in these poems so that I can invite you now, to a cinema of the textually minimal from an Eastern projector put on your screen.Now my first English book with more than 300 short poems is available on Amazon.com for $8.00 in paperback.
