I don't know about you, but I don't buy what happened in Iran yesterday, as real opposition. This is not genuine. Look at Egypt, the people are still hanging around Tahrir Square. People have that look on their faces we saw when other historical events took place, like collapse of the Soviet Union in 1989. And then the Ayatollahs thought it was Islam too. Did any Egyptian thank the reformed Ayatollahs? No. So the answer is that the Ayatollah system have a fake opposition that fills the shoes of an "opposition" in the world press. The world press does not show the real silent majority in opposition. In fact the silent majority believe in Iranian culture. This culture does not believe in street theater. They hate the camera and how it can lie. The Ayatollahs' crew love the cameras. So they put on a big Green show. Well it is a fake. Ok some people say that we had a lot of secular Iran First types there. They will point to a video of Basiji getting beaten up. But even there you will see clean shaved Iranians keeping cool after a while. So you ask me, "when is it real". I say look at cultural events that have been around for tens of thousands of years. They will include all Iranians for ever and ever. And nobody can deny that. And if you don't know what these cultural events are, then you don't love Iran.

The internal squabble
by alimostofi on Tue Mar 01, 2011 11:28 AM PSTThe internal squabble continues amongst the different parts of the regime. Divided they will fall, as Iranians will ignore them, and prepare for Nowruz.

Alex: The real opposition
by alimostofi on Wed Feb 16, 2011 09:36 AM PSTAlex: The real opposition are the Iranians who rejoice Nowruz. We see Iran as our Holy Land, even though the Ancients said to never make Iran a holy land. They said Earth is holy. They were so advanced. They said be righteous and tell the truth even though you have the free will to tell a lie.

True. It is a show. IRI is a repressive tyranny.
by AlexInFlorida on Tue Feb 15, 2011 07:49 PM PSTIRI is Unwanted by the silent majority, green movement is just a personality power struggle of pro west vs anti west elements of regime. The USA seems to still want islam for entire middle east, so real opposition, cultural one has no leader organizing a real movement.
There is no help from outside and leaders of real persian traditions are out of the game.
Hopefully during persian new year we see the real opposition take form from within Iran, despite USA policies.
