In this rare newsreel from 1946, Hossein Ala, the former Iranian prime minster who was, at the time of appearing in this newreel, Iran's ambassador at the UN as well as the ambassador in the United States, articulates the case of Iran against the USSR over the Soviet occupation of the Iranian Azerbaijan.

The likes of Ala,

by mahmoudg on

with his impeccable English, and the likes of Abdullah and Nasrullah Entezam with their powerful command of foreign languages, where the likes of what we had to represent us on the world scene.  Now we have Islamic garbage armed with norhing but the filth of the Quran, defacating over what those endeared men of the old achieved. In the hopes that we can once again be back on the world stage without the Islamic Rapist animals present.

Thanks for your kind words. Mr Ala was educated in the famous Westminster School which as produced many luminaries in the world of politics, literature and art (just look at the list here). For a person born outside of Britain, mastering the English accent is much more difficult than mastering the American accent for an non-American. Hossein Ala was a rare example of such achievement. His son Freidoun Ala whom I have had the pleasure of meeting on a number of occasions is equally masterful.

Glad you enjoyed the clip.

He was the primier of Iran before Razmara whom also Kashani's thugs attempted to kill, he survived. He was among few Iranian politicians from the old days, dismissed by the Shah in 63/64 for warning him on the turmoil ahead/- his handling of the clergy.

He was truely a Great Iranian. did he leave any memoirs ?
