Widely distribute this information and plan to attend this local action (or one that is being organized near you) which is part of a nationally coordinated Day of Action, calling for a halt to the U.S. escalation of war against Iran. AIFC, along with groups all across the country are mobilizing, getting out literature, speaking on campuses, and marching in our communities in a collective effort. We hope you join in this important campaign to:
Sat. Feb 4, 2012, 1 PM New York City Rally
The year 2011 and beyond has coincided with the U.S. using economic, diplomatic, political and the threat of military force against Iran with the aim of destabilizing the country and bringing about G. W. Bush's dream of "regime change". Since the Iranian Revolution in 1979, the U.S. government has:
1. Armed Saddam Hussein of Iraq to wage a nine-year war against Iran;
2. Imposed sanctions against foreign investment in Iran's oil & energy sector;
3. Blamed Iran for the resistance by the peoples of Iraq and Afghanistan;
4. Brought the Fifth Fleet into Iran's territorial waters of the Persian Gulf;
5. Financed & armed terrorist groups to bomb Iranian mosques, and buses, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of civilians and security guards;
6. Assassinated five Iranian scientists by planting networks of agents in Iran;
7. Confiscated part of Iran's sovereign funds deposited in U.S. banks.
The above is a partial list of the attacks and harm inflicted on the Iranian people. To say that sanctions are a form of war is not an exaggeration. We call on the American people to tell President Obama and the members of the U.S. Congress:
No War! No Sanctions! No Intervention! No Assassinations!

Mash Ghasem, you're right
by Siavash300 on Fri Jan 27, 2012 11:21 PM PSTI am still confused about this person S.B and I really never figure out where this guy is standing. Most of his write up doesn't make sense. Here he is misquoting me about war. I never said anything about war. I just pointed out the writer's mistake about weapons deal with Regan Administration. I don't understand is S.B doing this deliberately or just some kind of brain cell damage as a result of old age. (sorry no offend- just trying to describe the reality of life).
Iran-Iraq War lasted 8 years, not 9
by A as Abbas on Fri Jan 27, 2012 09:15 PM PSTAccording to Wikipedia, Iran-Iraq lasting from September 1980 to August 1988, which makes it a war with a duration of 7 years and 11 months, round it up to 8 years, not 9 as reported in this blog; unless the blogger counts 6 months of meddling in Iraq's internal affair before the full blown war started, and 6 months after the war ended when the rulers of Iran were drinking chalices of poison as part of the war.
SB your favourite writer has zero credibility here, or anywhere
by Mash Ghasem on Fri Jan 27, 2012 06:18 PM PSTelse for that matter.
To begin, just two years ago he was calling for all his brothers and sisters in opposition TO BE EXECUTED by IR. So much 'love' and 'tenderness' towards your 'people.'
A few years before becoming such a rabid apologists of IR he was a regular busy body with late Daruish Homayou 'struggling for his people.'
I'm not going to bother you with before Daryosh Homayon, but assure you that the moral of the story is that: for Ommani and his type 'people' are always nothing but sheer instruments for them to somehow appoint yourself the "President" of a self made club of two, and if times permitting calling for the execution of all your brothers and sisters, only because they refused a stolen election. This puts a new twist in 'solidarity.'
This is good
by Sadegh Bozorgmehr on Fri Jan 27, 2012 03:31 PM PSTThis is good. But predictably as soon as talk of avoding war with Iran comes up people like Siavash300 come out of the woodwork to distract from the effort.
For everyone else, please distribute info about this as widely as possible. The lives of our brothers and sisters are at stake.Common knowledge

Everybody knows about Iran-contra affair that Mullahs were buying their weapons and it's part from U.S.
Oliver North in his hearing said very clearly we were selling arms to mullahs for release of hostages in captivity in Lebanon such as Terry Anderson.
Reagan administration sent the arm deal money to Nicaragoa to support it's oppositions.
