Since 2001, I have gone arround life - like a wounded soul. Every event had a negative side to it. The world outside was blamed for everything that I encountered that was frustrating or difficult. And I do not think I was alone. Both, Iranians and Americans basically have developed a chip on their shoulders. For Americans, Muslims are to blame for their national bankruptcy ...for endless wars...AND for Iranians, Americans (and the West in general) are to blame for Iran's demise..."the mullahs are there because the West wants it so"...
But then last night, as a family, I connected my laptop to the big screen TV in our living room (to watch a downloaded Netflix movie), but while I was waiting for everyone to sit down, I put on some short Youtube, comedy skits by Iranian comedians ...in English. Maz, Amir K, etc.
One skit has Maz Jobrani talking about Iranians in L.A. - how they own so much real estate. And he finishes with you take our oil, we take your land!! On the face of it, its funny....really funny. But then it occured to me, why not? Maybe that is the solution.
Stop attacking and feeling sorry for yourself and every other Iranian-American ...just stop it. Stop attacking the Mullahs in Iran. Just stop it. Change your web I.D. and be positive. Very positive. There is so much to be positive about. I am here, my family is healthy, we can bring so much love into our lives. There is so much opportunity in America - its ubelievable. Iranians can prosper here - despite everything. Just like Jewish-Americans - we can own this place. Why not? We can express so much love for America and Americans - that it will simply put them to shame when they go arround hating us! If we create jobs, if we invent new products, if we help transform America's economy - how can we Iranians/Muslims/Foreigners be bad?
And as for the Mullahs in Iran. Well, I think the world should change its tune. There is so much pressure on them, so much finger pointing, that its very difficult to blame them for taking such an aggressive posture. The country is surrounded by over 200,000 western troops...and regime change is the call of the day. If we want to force change, there is another way ...let them relax...let them feel like their lives are not threatened....let them believe that there can be a different future for them...THEN - AND ONLY THEN - will regime change take place from inside Iran, organically ...when there is much less beligerance on both sides. The alternative - WAR - is just too messy to imagine. The whole world could blow up ...really? And do we want that?
We - yes you and I - can be the solution. So in this New Year, my message is simple, Lets work harder than we have ever done before. Lets bring happiness and prosperity to everyone we meet. Lets be a positive influence on the world. Lets change ourselves ...and find positive elements to engage in our lives to change the world we live in. The solutions has to come from 'positive opportunities' - not outright WAR. Find the positive and amplify it.
Goodbye - khodahafez. I love you all. This is my last blog on this site.

by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on Tue Dec 27, 2011 04:40 PM PSTI like it, okay lets try this one, US and Iran were Allies, they had the highest level Pact written into Law between them, Iran did everything they wanted for them, if they wanted the price of oil to go up and orders to increase from them we did it, if they wanted the price of oil to decrease and orders to decrease we did it for them (though this is lied about in 1000's of books saying Iran refused, not true), sadly the goal of the USA was something different and presented as beng for democracy and human rights, the USA was in opposition to Peace, Progress, Human Rights, Freedom, & Justice for All Iranians. The US marshaled its allies and they gave the Shah a clear choice, either you allow the people of Iran to go towards dispair and utter helplessness and end your government, or we will obliterate your people and extinct Iran as you know it.
What choice he made is clear, he left without a single shot being ordered by him. We are where we are though we can't admit it for pride, we are helpless and in despair our people are suffering cruelties we can't imagine let alone speak of. Few people, not even the IC site express or talk of Persian Culture or can defend it at home in Iran.
The good news is this chapter of US policy will one day come to an end, all policies have a closing chapter. At that point the USA will truly painfully regret what it did and continues to do, because such policies are consistently lethal for those that participate. If the USA doesn't pick up in 2012, this means that due to its deficit created in part by a $600 billion dollar per year military expense will cause its debt to be unsustainable by 2014 and then the USA will be faced with exactly the same choice they gave Iran, fight your way out of it (since the USA can't win with such a debt pre war) this means extinction for USA, or go down a path of despair and helplessness due to a total collapse, morally, economically leading to power transfer mostly to a mix between China, Russia and EU. hopefully they choose this, not extinction. On the other hand if they can climb out of this recession in 2012, then this policy will go on, IRI will live a while longer, but not indefinetly, maybe upto a decade more max. The Sun will shine again, the rivers will flow, the lakes will fill and the lions will come home and Iranian culture will continue to dazzle us in our lives, with freedom, justice, peace, progress, human rights, democracy for all. Personally I wouldn't get too attached to the USA as it functions today.
Since it's your last blog, here's a memorable quote for you.
by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on Tue Dec 27, 2011 03:41 PM PST"More than any time in history, mankind faces a crossroads. One path
leads to despair and utter helplessness, the other to total extinction.
Let us pray we have the wisdom to choose correctly." LOL You got a point, US approach keeps Regime going, if we were stronger we could have a say and change policy for real and mend relations from the side they are broken on with love.

Whom are you trying to fool? You will be back. I guarantee it!! (yeah. Just like the dude in the Men's Warehouse commercial).
I just Know it.
Relax? you kidding!
by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Mon Dec 26, 2011 11:14 AM PSTThere is no way IRI is going "ba zabooneh khosh". The past 33 years proved it. The Clinton administration tried "relaxing". American Secretary of State Madeline Albright went so far to apologize for 1953.
What did IRI do in return; give the finger. No; they had a chance and not only did not get better but got worse. They had their chance with Khatami and should have kept relaxing. They had another one with Mousavi. But chose to cheat once again.
Yes they are surrounded and I say "tough sh**". No one forced IRI to support Hamas and Hizbollah. Or AN to non stop needle Israel. Please don't tell me IRI is misunderstood. Maybe they stone women as an act of kindness.
