Newt Gingrich is openly Anti-Muslims and Anti-Iranians

Yesterday's polls put Newt Gingrich 4 points ahead of Mitt Romney as the new front runner in the race for the Republican Party's Presidential Nomination campaign. Wow, can you believe it? Newt rose from the Dead!

It was two short years ago that News Ginrich shared a stage with Gert Wilders. Gert Wilders is the firey head of Holland's far rightist, anit immigrant and anti muslim party...and he was invited to speak to a large crowd protesting the creation of a Mosque/Community Center in Manhattan two years ago. They spoke to the same crowd.

It was two short years ago, but the turth revealed itself. Newt was and is openly hostile to Muslims in the U.S.; and openly pandered to the far right Jewsih establishment in New York for political support. Is that who Americans really want as their next president of the United States?

It was two short years ago, that the same Tea Party, Christian fanatic crowd so dominated the news and the Republican Party won seats in Congress -- and took over the house of representatives. This is the same republican party of Arizona (and now Alabama) that openly announced hostility to immigrants and muslims. This is also the same republican party that so cherishes family values and morality; that so cherishes eliminating special interests in politics  - yet they are supporting a three times adulterer like Newt Gingrich, and yet they support one of the very few house members that was not only found guilty but fined for ethical violations (for taking money from special interests) as leader of the House Republicans - yes: Newt Gingrich.

It was two short years ago that out of simple disgust for the hatred and polarization in the U.S. I decided to "go public" and enter politics and do the Ayatoilet show on T.V (which I stopped after 6 months). I was really scared of what was going on ...Here was Newt Ginrich, but then we had cooks like Christine O'Donnell too (running for the Senate)....

There will NEVER be democracy in Iran, if people like Newt come to power. They are hypocrites, and ruthless. Remember his hero Ronald Reagan, was the one who secretly dealt with the Mullahs in Iran (behind Carter's back) and gave the IRI security assurances and coordinated the war against the Soviets in Afghanistan with them. Remember it was the Bush clan, that had golden opportunities to topple the regime in Iran and did not take it. These bastards will fool you, fool all of us ...spout out the most anti-Mullah speech in public and then secretly deal with them behind everyone's back.

There are few politicians I hate more in America than Newt Gingrich. But, let me say this much, you should despise his hypocracy too. These are the types of politicians that say one thing and do totally the reverse. Rules and laws only apply to everyone else - not them. He is full of Sh*t. And if he is elected to represent the Republican party as their presidential candidate - it will be very telling of Republicans themselves.

Just when, I was giving up on Obama, I am reminded of how nasty and bad the Republicans can be!! DO NOT BE FOOLED. The Newt Gingrich crowd hate you and hate all of us. DO NOT BE FOOLED.

that places 100 million people — one in three Americans — either in poverty or in the fretful zone just above it.

NY TIMES:

"When the Census Bureau this month released a new measure of poverty, meant to better count disposable income, it began altering the portrait of national need. Perhaps the most startling differences between the old measure and the new involves data the government has not yet published, showing 51 million people with incomes less than 50 percent above the poverty line. That number of Americans is 76 percent higher than the official account, published in September. All told, that places 100 million people — one in three Americans — either in poverty or in the fretful zone just above it.

After a lost decade of flat wages and the worst downturn since the Great Depression, the findings can be thought of as putting numbers to the bleak national mood — quantifying the expressions of unease erupting in protests and political swings. They convey levels of economic stress sharply felt but until now hard to measure.

“These numbers are higher than we anticipated,” said Trudi J. Renwick, the bureau’s chief poverty statistician. “There are more people struggling than the official numbers show.”

I was joking. Besides I said it makes the person doing feel good. The other poor souls must put up with the stench! How about rants in isolation? People go to their basement then rant at the walls until done.

Then no one has to hear it. Or they pay 300 $ to a shrink who will put up with it. But with some the rants here I am not sure any shrink will go for them!

Another idea is I start a rant-o-rama. Rent padded sound proof rooms for ranting :-)

Not always.

In some cases, We are talking about such Sh** infested rants stinking to high heavens, that they barely exhibit that desired Cleansing effect...

I'd Rather some people stay constipated and as a result act in an environmentally friendly manner. You know...

To claim that So and so Is a criminal just because they witnessed a crime taking place??? Not righteous.

Rant is good it cleanses the soul and purifies the mind. It is like taking a giant ***. It may stink up the room but makes you feel real good. The alternative is constipation. A very nasty problem. I go for the former!

Alright sorry fair eough I agree Islam is not a race. There are difference races but like black and white. But Islam is not a race because it lets anyone in. Therefore you are rigiht on that.

Regarding the rest maybe I am over sensitive. I want people to know that not even majority of Iranians wanted the IRI. In fact not even majority of Muslim Iranians want it!

Since the revolution many former Muslims gave it up. Thanks to shameIRI brought to Islam. You should know the Pahlavi period had a very mild Islam. People thought that IS Islam and did not realize what Khomeini had in mind.

Is it because Iranians are muslim and the first nation in modern history to overthrow a secular progressive regime in FAVOR of an islamic one?

Many people tried to explain to you what happened. You refuse to listen and just repeat the same thing. The Islamic regime came to power due to a set of events. Why don't you read the posts here. Or better some history books and get the details.

Most people did not want this. They wanted to keep the social freedoms and get political freedom. They ended up losing the social freedoms and getting nothing. That is what happened. Majority did not want the Islamic Republic.

Iranians who turn a blind eye to this, or worse, Iranians who because of their inferiority complex become most violently anti-Islam in hopes of being spared from attacks themselves better wake up soon.

Not so simple. There are two completely separate issues. One part is about Islam the other is about Republicans and Democrats!

I have lived in America over 30 years and tell people I am from Iran. Few {except Muslims and some Europeans} assume I am Muslim. I make it clear if asked I am not a Muslim. This is accepted without question and that is it. Proof is in my actions. I do not rant about Israel. I do not go crazy when someone pokes fun at Islam. I do not dress Islamic; wear a beard or whatever. I know it makes Muslims feel less isolated to bundle all Iranian with them. Too bad I am not buying it.

The other part if the presidential race. I oppose Newt. The only Republican with any sense is Romney. But he is in a weak position because he is a Mormon. Republican party of now is too far to the right for me. That is why I oppose them not their stance on Islam. Republicans have been just as "supportive" of Islam as anyone. Bush was the one with "religion of peace" I remind you.

You write: "...but at the end of the day Gingrich and millions of Americans like him will associate Iranians with Islam and even disguise their racism by making it about Islam."

1) Why would these mean Americans 'associate' Iranians with islam, as you put it?  Is it because Iranians are muslim and the first nation in modern history to overthrow a secular progressive regime in FAVOR of an islamic one?
2) What 'race' is islam?
3) What 'race' is 'Iranian?'  Do you consider Iranian muslims as bi-racial?    How about Iranian jews, or Iranian christians?  Are they all biracial?  What happenes to these people's 'races' when they change their citizenship, religion, or both?

I don't have a magic wand to restore the past so I don't know. All I guess at is it will take a great deal of thought and work. I am not arrogant enough to say I know the fix but am willing to listen.

Maybe we need to pool all our minds and abilities.

Here is one suggestion for starters a "Government in Exile". Made up by factions which are willing to work together. Get RP off his rear and to work.

It will be tough because we diaspora are best at in-fighting. We need to put aside our selfishness; greed and egos. Don't worry about titles and who is "in charge".

RP will have to sit right next to anti Monarchists. Secular and Muslim next to each other.

Make deals that are totally unpalatable to us. Offer Americans deals which half the coalition shudders at. Make alliances with internal resistance groups ...

Who knows what will happen? But at least Iranians will be doing something not sitting back.

As I said I am afraid we end up bickering until the end of time.

The other options is to let American do what they want.

"Already the children of the wealthy have all the advantages, the best schools, nice vacations, all the material goods for a life of ease, the connections to come out of school and land a cushy six-figure job. These are things more and more kids and young people have virtually no access to. Now Newt wants to set that class divide in concrete and make sure no one is ever able to leap across it.

It's fine to spread those Horatio Alger stories from 100 years ago but for every story like that, hundreds of kids were stuck in poverty and went to early graves. And these days, you're far more likely to see tycoons like Donald Trump or the Murdoch kids who started at the top with wealthy parents. "

by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on

So what's the solution, I'm all ears. Learn is not a solution, it is a process and for now we are on the receiving end. The way it looks is we have within our country plenty of weaknesses that can be exploited from now until the next ice age. Those that have been patriotic and proven it were labelled as puppets, those that were not as hero's.  Learning at this rate means giving up on Iran completely.  It would be great to realize that real solutions for Irans Success are not what is popular/populist.

Veiled Prophet of Khorasan

Shared responsibility

by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on

It is almost never that a single person or group is responsible Here is my 2 cents free and worthless opinion:

  • Iranian people are responsible for being fooled by Khomeini. Buying into religious mumbo jumbo. Other thinking Khomeini is better than Shah.
  • Iranian movements were responsible. JM being vindictive and refusing to deal with Bakhtiyar. MKO being idiots and natural terrorists. Meli Mazhabi being plain out idiots.
  • Iranian an-tellectual responsible for feeding people *** about Islam.
  • Shah was responsible by destroying all secular institution. But leaving Islamist powers to fill the void.
  • Britain and France for pushing Khomeini and giving him a home and a voice.
  • America by refusing to back the Shah in fact undermining him. By making the military pledge to Khomeini. And by exposing the military plans to overthrow Khomeini.

Plenty blame for all parties involved so no problem. The worst reaction to me it putting all the blame on one. Either we are all to blame. Or we are totally blameless. We should take responsibly but not beat ourselves up. Nor should we act as if we are helpless babies at the whim of others.

Best reaction is to learn and not repeat the mistake over. figure out what we may do to help. Then do it!

Toilet Jaan - what about my first comment / question?

by Anonymous Observer on

Do Iranians bear any responsibility whatsoever for the anti-Iranian atmosphere around the world?

Mullahkosh

Here is the problem with Ayatoilet arguments

by Mullahkosh on

His argument, like most conspiracy theorist  goes like this: I am smarter than everyone else, I see things that other people don't see, I also hear things, and can read between the lines that other people can't do. I also see deeper meaning into things that others don't see, so listen me, everything you see, hear, and feel has much deeper meaning that you don't understand, unless you think like I do. Then , and only then you will get what I am telling you.

Iranian revolution was genuinely an Iranian creation. Khomeini was not some unknown identity that no one knew about prior to 1979. His tapes, and lectures were wide spread amongst his very organized supporters. Just because you, and all of our other pseudo-intellectuals in JM, Nehzat e azadi did not know much about him prior to 1979, it does not mean it was a Du Pont circle, and London, or Paris creation. That is absolutely absurd, and your arguments are full of holes, and backed up only by your imagination. Dude, take off the towel on your head, and let your brains breath. Your post is full of pointing fingers and shifting responsibilities to others, but Iranians.

By the way, if Iranians get manipulated so easily, than I am glad that someone is kicking their butt, and stealing their oil. May be we don't deserve it. Of course, America will always looks after its own interest, as it should. Do you want to America to care for Iranian interest when the government of Iran itself has no such affinty for the country? Don't be ridiculous. America forms its policies based on maximizing its strategic goals. That does not however mean that America is creating revolutions, and Khomeinis of the world. Khomeini is an Iranian creation. Let's be honest, in 1979, the democratic forces were incompetent, unorganized, and intellectually lazy to deal with the fanatics, and when push came to shove, not only the so called 5th strongest military in the world was defeated in the streets of Tehran, but then our "an"tellectuals had no chance. The day Sanjabi went to Paris and agreed to Khomeini's terms, democracy was dead in Iran.

Mullahkosh: Speaking of hollow statements…

by Bavafa on

Here is one
This is fear mongering at best. You seem to have no problem implicitly supporting the regime in Iran on this site

This is all considering that is coming from a person that openly advocates the rejection & deportation of nearly 3 million American Muslim from the US, solely for their choice of religion which he has failed to read the part of the constitution that protects such choice.

And I quote

Actually muslims should not be coming to this kafar nation of ours. They should stay in many of the great Islamic countries around the world. We don't need their contributions in this country

Now, I would not even bother to dignify your [absurd] charge of “implicitly supporting the regime in Iran” to answer that.

Some people are just better left off to remain in their own ignorance.

ayatoilet1

AO - this is not about Republican vs Democrat ..

by ayatoilet1 on

This is about the language of hate. This is about polarization. This is about hypocracy. This is about fear in our kids ...

In some states in the U.S. the democrats are more republican than even some republicans. Delaware (where I work) is a good example....both Senator Coons and Carper are what is called "progressive democrats" which is more republican than many republicans. The "New Labour" party in the U.K. under Blair was in someways more "Conservative" than some of the "conservatives" of the past. The point is the parties, the candidates, the domain is shifting.

Having said all that, I am somewhere in the middle.... I believe in freedom, democracy, liberty, free speech, free enterprise, compassion and decency. Newt is neith compassionate nor decent and his concept of freedom does not extend to Muslims or Iranians or people in countries where U.S. had economic interests. I heard what he said in New York and should go to hell...cause the hatred he espouses belongs only in hell.

And btw I went to college in the 1980's.... and in different parts of the world.

Veiled Prophet of Khorasan

Iranian Republicans?

by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on

Most Iranians Americans I know have always been liberal. Much more so than average American. The 2008 Zogby poll commissioned by PAAIA shows about 1/2 Iranian Americans are Democrats vs. 1/8 Republican:

//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iranian_American#Poli...

This is in agreement with my personal experience.  I would like to see other claims backed up by reference and or polls.

It is true that many Iranians specially in America dislike Jimmy Carter. They hold JC responsible for not supporting the Shah. But most of them realize the problems were not all on him. That Shah himself created the situation and Iranians also bear a lot of responsibility. Therefore the politics still remain liberal. This is due to many reasons including cultural values and mistrust of religion. The Republican embrace of religion in politics frightens many Iranians that I know. Including me.

ayatoilet1

Raoul - Fanatic or Political Islam is a Western Invention ...

by ayatoilet1 on

Is your head under sand? You need to deal with your own governments and stop attacking Muslims and for that matter Iranians.

Fanatic Islam has played a very useful role in the "rollout" of US and European foreign policy in the region; and you MUST get over the rhetoric and understand the realities of what is actually going on in the middle east. Fanatic Islam is a western invention...by jesus freaks in the West. They used it to defeat communism. Its a fact.

Someone here inside the beltway in DC, had a great idea of defeating Communism with relgion - and miracles of miracles - John Paul becomes the pope, and we have solidarity in Poland ... and arround the same time; the Shah of Iran was toppled (read my lips toppled ...yes, its documented that his downfall was engineered (google: General Dutch Heyser))...Iranians were only asking for freedom and democracy ...the revolution was NOT about bringing Islam in Iran...

Out of nowhere, a guy with a long beard shows up in an AIR FRANCE boeing 747 in Tehran airport. (Yes, the French government paid for it). And the Islamists from Europe took over.

The current regime in Iran is not ISLAMIC at all. Its a farce. Ayatollah Khamenei is NOT even an ayatollah. He has no relgious qualificatons; is not even a marja etc. One of the most respected Ayatollahs (Montazeri) has said the Islamic Republic is neither Ilsamic nor a republic. And guess what; Khamenei was nominated to become Supreme Leader by no lesser than Ayatollah Rafsanjani (who also is not an ayatollah at all) - who is a known Western agent (who recieved the infamous bible from Reagan during the Iran-Contra events). Even Osama Bin Ladin was on the CIA payroll. And the Saudi Royal family dictators are in the West's back pocket. I could go on and on.

I won't bore you or lecture you. Just encourage you to wake up and smell the flowers. Ordinary people in all these countries are victims - not supporters of Western policies. No one would immigrate to Europe and witness the prejudice and anger towards immigrants there (or indeed here in the U.S.) if they had a choice. But with US/European backed dicatators everywhere in the Islamic world, many prefer to deal with prejudice rather than have to deal with their national secret police force. Its a tough choice - but its reality. Neither I or my family can go to Iran...we would be imprisoned, tortured then killed.

As for Islam being disrespectful to women etc. - be careful. Much like the Christian or Jewish faith, Islam is subject to interpretation. There are reformed Jews and there are Hassidic Jews ...on one side the women shave their heads, wear wigs, use sheets to not touch their husbands during sex etc. etc. on the other side its totally different. The same in Islam. Nowhere in the Qoran does it say a lot of the things that people attribute as being negative in Islam.  Islam needs reformation, but it sure won't get reformed if the fanatics are being supported by the West - and have the power to dictate. Fanatics can be cruel, disrespectuful and do things using their religious interpretations as an excuse. There are Catholic carnivals where people cut themselves up - and have blood spilt in the streets all in the name of religion. Hitler was a Christian!!

Be careful about the rhetoric on Islam or Iran.  Its all designed to decieve. Just think about it, the West announces "heavy sanctions" all the time, yet all these sanctions are total bullsh*t. During a deep period of sanctions (while the U.S. was actually guarding Iraq's border with Iran), Iran was doing record business with Iraq. Everything, I mean everything, inside Iraq was being shipped in from Iran. Air conditioners, tires, kerosene, electricity for the city of Basra, Norther Iraq ..etc. etc. The U.S. announced major sanctions - they will STOP imports of gasoline to Iran right after Iran had built their own cat cracker to produce their own gasoline!! For 30 years they let gasoline get shipped to Iran and suddenly after Iran built its own cracker, suddenly they announced "crippling" gasoline sanctions. Its all a giant deception.

Islam and the regime in Iran serve a useful purpose for the West right now.  If you have a problem with it, deal with your own politicians. Liars, and decievers like Newt Gingrich... Newt is no saint. Neither is Gert Wilders. And the language of hate does not belong inside the public sphere. We will only get ahead if we have real concrete solutions to offer. Whether or not someone is pro- or against illegal immigration....these are real people, real families, real lives... Most of them (in the U.S. at least) send money home to their families so they can survive ... What solutions are Gert Wilders or Newt Gingrich offering? All they are offering is polarization ... When little hispanic kids are being thrown out of school in Alabama or Arizona - what are we creating? A new generation of uneducated thugs, gangs, thieves? What are we offering to make the world a better place?

Attacking Muslims or Iranians does not move any argument forward. We must find solutions and work together to make the world a better place. Even though I am a legal immigrant, I would go to Iran in a heartbeat, if the regime changed and I could live there in peace, without threat of death or intimidation. Now I am legal. Illegal immigrants would NOT hesitate to return if there were opportunities for them back home. Who wants to leave their kids, family, mother etc. for a hostile nation of Gert Wilders?

The money the U.S. send to Israel is orders of magnitude more than the support it gives central america...although in truth the U.S. is directly responsible for the economic blight in Central America. Years of U.S. backed civil wars, bannana republics dominated by corrupt generals ...no freedom, no liberty, no free speech, no free enterprise ...and what is the result: Economic Blight. Is that a surprise to anyone?

Muslims wouls readily leave Europe too - if they had somewhere to go. The Brits for example; have put up a dictator in Azerbaijan; taken over Iranian territory in the Caspian Sea; screwed up Iranian democracy, put up their agents in power iin Iran (who are told to turn a blind eye) ...and what do we have BP pulling out 3 Million barrels of oil a day. I could go through country after country where immigrants are drifting into Europe and show you how the West has meddled in their politics and created the conditions for people to choose freedom and liberty in Europe against repression and poverty in their own countries. Oil is close to 30% of Britain and Holland GDP. And surprise you have immigrants from Central Asia, Iran, Northern afica (places like Libya ...with Italian and German Oil companies) ...and you are surprised? You're shocked. Talk to the executives at BP and Shell ...and you'll understand why there are immigrants in Europe...Pull your head out of the sand.

As for Muslims being nasty, bad and disrespectfull ...well Raoul ...there are over a Billion Muslims in this world... In the end, you must live to co-exist with them on this planet. Co-existing can not happen - if you think this way. I don't think I am nasty bad or disrespectful. I love to engage with human beings of all backgrounds. I am fascinated by other cultures ... and it gives me a means to share and love my other fellow human beings. I am proposing a whole different dynamic to the one that Newt Gingirch or Gert Wilders provide. I think we can do much better, much much better than they offer.

When you decide who to vote for, its similar to going shopping and buying some out of date turkey that has salmonella ...instead of a juicy, hearty, tasty fresh bird to enjoy for thanksgiving. Newt and Gert are out of date and their agenda is sick ...like salmonella...all they do is poison the public square.  There is nothing good about their agenda. I personally would not vote for them... but its a free country, you have a right to vote for anyone. Unfortunately, for over 100 years, Muslims everywhere (including Iran) did not have that option.... These Ayatoilets would not be in power, and the image of Islam would not be what it is today, if Muslims and Iranians had the right to vote ...30 years ago or 50 years ago.

It may now be too late....everything is so polarized. All we are getting everywhere is extremists. People are getting really stupid, crazy and polarized. And neither Newt or Gert are helping the situation. They are making people crazier....everywhere.
