Hi, my name is Ali Zandi. I am a doctoral student studying Clinical Psychology. I am conducting a study looking at acculturation and family functioning with Persian-Americans between the ages of 18-30. There is very little psychological research on Persian-Americans. My study will help therapists and counselors better understand the mental health needs of the Persian community.
If you are an Iranian-American who is between the age of 18 and 30 and fluent in English, please take the time to complete my confidential online study at https://www.psychdata.com/s.asp?SID=142192.
If you complete the study, you will be entered into a drawing to win Target gift cards worth $100 and $75. The study takes about a half hour to complete and it can have a big impact on counseling practices with Persian-American families. Thank you.
Please help me with my doctoral disseration by completing my fully confidential online study focusing on Iranian-American acculturation and family functioning. Please go to https://www.psychdata.com/s.asp?SID=142192. You can win some prizes for participating. Thank you.

The last Persian-American
by Roger_Rabbit on Tue Aug 02, 2011 06:13 AM PDTthat I know of ceased to exist in 1935, after Reza Shah asked foreign governments to use Iran instead of Persia in their official documents. I guess you must go back in the archives and find how many Persians took American citizenship before 1935.
Boy sounds like an exciting project!!!
No such thing as "Persian-American"
by robertborden54 on Mon Aug 01, 2011 06:09 PM PDTUnless you mean to explicitly exclude all Iranians who are Azeri, Kurdish, Arab, Balouch, Turkmen, etc. In other words, most Iranians. Good luck with that particular project!

Here are a few findings for your dissertation.
They all still live at home with mom and dad.
They all love Chelo Kabob and all the great Iranian stuff.
They are all really good at texting, tweeting and facebooking.
They are busy all day posting clips on Youtube.
They need to travel to Europe to get some international experience before getting a job.
They all need a brand new BMW to start looking for a job.
