Dariush & Faramarz Aslani Still Alive.

Dariush & Faramarz Aslani Still Alive.

Everyone please relax, don't panic!

I just received word that in spite of their age, tendency to over do it at the bar, and inability to produce any new music worth listening to (even with the help of the Cartios!), Dariush and Faramarz Aslani are apparently still alive and scheduled to perform in San Francisco at the Herbst theater on October 1st, 2011.

Although they appear to enjoy each others company, these days the former Iranian Pop stars are so old that they don't know who the other one is.

Thankfully, neither one is allowed to drive.

Phew!

Nice lyrics and Darius has such a warm voice

This "Divar" song has got nice lyrics and what I like about Darius is his "porehsas" voice.

Though majority is younger than me I love to go to all concerts and sing the songs.  Unfortunately, I have been only in a few of them so far since I give priority to other activities including contemporary pop concerts when I get a chance, which have something novel to present including wonderful animations and lightening.

I don't think that Bahmani didn't like the singers.  He posted their beautiful video in the blog.  On the other hand, it's kind of expected from him since she is in love with Leila Foroohar perhaps because of Leila's princess fairy tales dress up games.

Darious and Faramarz

performed in bay area earlier this year to a sold out corwd of about 1500.   The music was awesome, the chemistry beautiful.   They started around 9:00 pm and wend all the way to mid-night, with only about 20 minutes break.

At mid-night, they had to leave and even a non-stope 15 minutes ovation could not bring them back.   I don't really go to much of Iranian music shows, as they are generally boaring, but Bruce is clearly not aware of musical legends like Grateful Dead or never been to one of their concert.   It is not what is new, but it is all about timeless music.   Both Faramarz and Darioush have produced timeless music, and the evidence was clear at their concerts in here.

More than half the crowd was under age 30, knowning every word to the songs, to my amazement.

Panic. Thanks God.

All of a sudden, I felt a tremendous wave of fear for no reason at all. My heart was pounding, my chest hurt, and it was getting harder to breathe. I thought I was going to die.

I liked the video.  Thank you!

Are they at their late 90s?

Since they are not allowed to drive?

Cost-of-Progress

Not sure what the problem is

but Aslani is one of the great musicians on the scene. His latest Album, The Third Line, has a number of awsome tunes in it.
Perhaps you lean toward the likes of Moein (he's gotten old too, you know) or the majority of singers who tend to do more Noahe Khooni than singing. These so called singers will be good for Taziye or marasem-e sine zani....
Cheers
