WTF??

by PedramMoallemian on

Dear Behnam Sazavar;

I have no idea why posting this is important at this point but since your small explanation contained at least one error and one point that wasn't clear, I decided to add some addtional information in case some readers are interested.

1 - Even Rafsanjani himself now admits (in his memoirs) that the number of dead was much higher but they decided to announce only 72+Beheshti to play on people's emotional attachment with Karbala. The closest actual number to reality is over 110.

 2 - If anyone, it is Rafsanjani that needs to explain wy he left that meeting. According to all official accounts it was taking place for the Islamic Republic Party to announce who they will present as their candidate after the impeachment of Banisadr, so the topic was no small matter. Beheshti spoke, so did Rafsanjani. It was suggested they decide on two candidates, in case Khomeini objected to one being a clergy. Even a group was selected to take their suggestions to Jamaran. But then two key people leave the meeting before the candidates are decided on: Rafsanjani, along with Behzad Nabavi, a key player of the regime's early intelligence organization. Why?

3 - How big was the bomb? Considering the damage it caused, it certainly could not have been inside a single briefcase, shoved under Beheshti's table by a 21 year old "head of security" for country's most important figures. Since you mentioned it was "powerful", could you shed some light as to what kind of bomb it was and how it was detonated?

4 - No organization has yet claimed responsibility for the bomb. Does that surprise you? If you are thinking PMOI has, they have not.

I have spent three+ years researching this period of political life in Iran, so if you have any evidence that contradicts my assertions, I'd love to see it!
