The technique of namad mali (felt beating) is a very primitive craft dating back to early man. Because the essence of primitive art such as namad mali lies in its simplicity and naive existence, it is therefore difficult if not virtually impossible, for a modern artist to be able to do this.

Dear Behnam, I noticed that in your introduction piece you wrote, "The technique of namad mali (felt beating) is a very primitive craft dating back to early man." With all due respect, isn't the term "humankind," rather than "man"? I imagine there were early women! Please correct me if I am wrong. I also noticed that the narrator attributed the craft to her "fathers." I have not lived in Iran  in 30 years, perhaps it is not "halal" to mention women while speaking. To me words matter and since women constitute more that 50% of worlds population, let's mention them every now and then. Thank you in advance.
