The attached photos depict the cold and snowy day that residents of Dallas, Texas woke up to on the first day of Spring this past week (March 21, 2010).
This day, of course, was the Persian New Year's Day, marking the start of the year 1389 on Iranian solar calendar. At first site, it really felt like Norooz (and Spring) had been interrupted by a rude and untimely cold front and snowfall.
But Spring and the Texas weather would not put up with that for long! The thin sheet of snow melted away very quickly and by that same evening, it was almost all cleared up! >>> Photos
