i translated ten poems of yaghma golrooey to thank him for a big favor he did for my baba. these are my first attempts at farsi to english poetic translations and i enjoyed the 2 hours or so that it took to translate each poem so much it gave me a "raisin de eater". if anyone can point me toward poems that need translating the cheragh of my shabestan would light up.

You did very well my friend! Your friend's poem is thought-provoking and touching. Your translation has moved his poem to a language accessible by many more people to read and to contemplate. Excellent! I'll be sure to remember you when I'm stuck translating something!

I can guess how difficult it could be to translate a poem to English and yet to consider the rhymes so relevant as you did. Also, the equivalent slangs are appropriately chosen. I'm not an expert, but it seems to me a great job!
