آقا جان/خانم محترم
گیر سه پیچ دادی ول نمی کنی ها.  این کلمه یک اسطلاح است و بس. همچین رفتار می کنین انگار به مقدساتتون توهین شده.

Hala goh khordam shod "slang" baramoon. vaghti mikhaym dorost rastesh bokonim injoory migeem. (man farsi mineveesam ta baziya khejalat bekeshan.)

Personally I have no problem with using words like that. I just had to remind you and irandokht aka khanom mo'alem that when you gang up against others then you have to be careful with what you say.

sounds like deja vu

by IRANdokht on

this calls for another series of apologies and backpedaling!

Capt'n, please make sure you don't use this expression again next time and just ask what does "kheili kheili" ghalat kardam translate to  :o))

Desi jan it's so good to see you back

Sorry but Ghalat kardam just

by desi on

Sorry but Ghalat kardam just doesn't pack a punch.  Goh Khordam is the only appropriate title for Michael Steele's but kissing.

dear goody tow shoes... ;-)

by capt_ayhab on

May I suggest that you don't get carried away with it and do not attempt to censor the writings?

If you call use of a slang as profane then you certainly have few issues other than a title of a satirical and sarcastic blog. Besides there are few other blogs written under so called romantic stories which will require your criticism and services more than this. Pay a visit there and enlighten them. Last time you commented there I did not see you outrage about all the K words, as a matter of fact you seemed to have enjoyed it.

lighten up dude, besides dignitary ham khodeti , ma hich nisteem ;-)

Lighten up guys !

by Souri on

I don't intend to justify the use of those words, but honestly, guys you are doing too much !! Those words are very common and we always heard them in a conversation either in Iran or out of Iran when we speak to to the friends. As long as they are not used as an insult  to anybody out there (in the site) or to their beliefs, nothing wrong with that. Look at Sadegh Hedayat or Choubak or Aal Ahmad....or many other great writers and masters of literature of our country. Didn't they use that kind of words in their stories?

I don't understand English well, I didn't get the videos and don't know what the blogger is talking about, but for the word of so called "profanity"??  Are you sure that your motivation are not some how "personal" ? I mean....come on !! Lighten up please

Please enlighten us

by Literary critic (not verified) on

It seems that new standards are being set, thanks to capt_ayhab and Irandokht's indepth knowledge of Persian slang, for what is considered profane and otherwise. Would you be good and enlighten us as to what other former profanities are now decent. Can we expect our dignitaries to speak such language or is it confined to the standards of Iranian.com?

People

by capt_ayhab on

My apologies if I have offended anyone. for ones who do not speak Farsi, it is an slang and is not meant as profanity.

IRANdokht jan, thanks for explaining in my behalf.

Not a republican

by capt_ayhab on

Perhaps there is a misunderstanding. [goh khordan] is an slang meaning sorry to the nth degree. It is NOT meant to be a profanity.

The reason I have used that expression is that is what Steele literally did by grovelling like he did.

Cheers
