I posted this link yesterday, but it never made it to any of the I.com pages. Not sure why.
Anyway, this is a photo journal of a European (Belgium) couple and their 4 (yes 4) children who set out for a world tour in their SUV in Sep 2006. Check out the link above for photos, route and other details. The captioned photos are really great specially those of Iran.
These people are both courageous and adventurous.

COP-jan, one fine summer, 35
by Sargord Pirouz on Wed Feb 24, 2010 11:23 PM PSTCOP-jan, one fine summer, 35 years ago, five of us piled in a '73 Ford Country-Squire station wagon, and drove from San Francisco to New York City. There, we put the car on a boat, and we took a jet plane to Paris, where we met up with my Iranian uncles. Then later, we picked up the car at Le Havre, and drove across Europe, right through the Iron Curtain, into the military dictatorship of Turkey, through the war zone that was Kurdistan, and into Iran. Once we finally made it to Tehran, my Iranian Aunt was aghast we drove through the war zone!
Trip of a lifetime. So much of the world has since changed. We were fortunate to see it before the fall of socialism and the rise of globalization.
