The real issue is whether there are two parties in this country, or do we have a single party -- The Capitalist Party -- The Republicans and Democrats being merely two wings of the same party -- The Capitalist Party. And as Nazi Germany, the Shah’s Rastaakhiz party, and the rest of history has taught us, a single party country tends to become a fascist country.
As a worker-bee for a major corporation in the US, I feel the pressure to contribute to my corporation's Political Action Committee (PAC) - easily deducted from my paycheck!. The major corporations in the US do not give a damn about McCain nor Obama. They put their money (the PAC contribution) where they can get the biggest bang for their buck -- as long as it serves their interest. A US corporation has no feelings. To them, a Democrat vs. a Republican is the same whore.
I repeat -- the major US corporations do not care whether the Democrats win, or the Republicans win. They do not give a damn if Ayatollah Khamanei is a mere stooge of the US/UK, looking for a safe heaven in Algeria or the French Riviera. The major US corporations could not give a shit about potential uprising of the Iranian people against the Ayatollah's Arabic regime, nor the first declaration of Human Rights -- 2,500 years ago -- by the Persian Cyrus the Great. Who gives a damn in the US whether Cyrus was Persian -- or he was an Arab nomad singing the Azaan from some mosque’s minaret, while bending 5 times a day.
The name of the game is to make money. Whether it is the unregulated hedge funds leading to the current US financial mess, or the corrupt Ayatollahs/Mullahs and the likes of Rafsanjani in Iran, pocketing the Euro-petro-dollars, while making a deal with US/UK for a safe heaven upon the uprising of the Iranian youth.
There is too much emphasis in this blog about the Israeli/Palestine issue. Those people constitute a mere 50 million inhabitants on this planet. Meanwhile -- over hundreds of millions of us are being fucked and going bankrupt by the policies of the same ass-hole who are supposedly "democratically-elected" to look out for our interest. Well -- if they don't give a damn about their own countrymen's well being, do you really think they'd give a shit about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict?
Many people in this forum take the Israeli/Palestinian issue too seriously within the context of 6 billion people living/suffering on this planet. The plight of Israel/Palestine, while looking dire, is nothing (NOTHING) compared to the plight of African poverty and famine. I suppose too many people are busy reading the Bible, Qoran or Torah -- to bother about reading the "God Delusion" by Richard Dawkins.
May God (that I do not believe in) bless them all.

One Party System
by farokh2000 on Tue Sep 23, 2008 08:22 AM PDTYes, there seems to be only one Party in this Country. The Candidates donot have distinct differences and all debates are scripted.
What is the use of the debate if they pick the questions for you well ahead of time and you have plenty of time to prepare yourself?
You are totally correct, it is the Capitalist Party that wins.
Just look at the Elections in the last 8 years. Did GW get elected or selected?
It was pretty obvious that he was selected, of course and has served his Masters well.
What a shame.
