Sultane Saheb Gheran was only about Nasseredin Shah
by Darius Kadivar on Sat Dec 27, 2008 11:57 AM PSTI believe the series you are thinking about were a different title than the Soltaneh Sahebgharan you mention here. I don't remember the title though. What is used here ias footage in Bebin's History for Dummies is from a series made in Iran a few years ago which was an interesting high quality production. Not sure how accurate it is for there are some anti monarchy propaganda that the regime in Iran indulges in whenever refering to Iran's history regardless of the dynasty's in question. But it is a lavish production and they did an excellent job in terms of acting and reconstruction.
The Soltaneh Sahebgharan should be available in all Iranian groceries or DVD shops. I don't remember if they truly focused on Amir Kabir but maybe I forgot and you are right. I know It was also tainted with some Pahlavi Propaganda against the Qajars at the time it was produced but it also benefited with some great performances and with full access to historical sites and costumes.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,

Darius jan - my brain needs more than 60 sec ;)
by Arash Monzavi-Kia on Sat Dec 27, 2008 11:08 AM PSTThanks for the post, but unlike the x and y generations, my brain needs a lot more than 60 seconds to process. There was a TV series made in mid 1970's in Iran about the Amir and the Shah. Do you know if it is openly available? I recall the name as Sultane Saheb Gheran, but may be wrong.
Cheers,
