Iran Bans Pictures of Foreign Film Stars ( NY Times)
Nine cinema and lifestyle magazines have been banned in Iran for publishing images of “corrupt” foreign artists, Agence France-Presse reported on Sunday. The publications were banned by the Culture Ministry for showing “photographs of corrupt foreign artists and details about their decadent lives.” Thirteen other publications received warnings. The latest issue of one of the banned magazines, Donya-ye Tasvir, included photographs and articles about Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon and several other Hollywood stars. Only a handful of cinemas in Tehran screen foreign movies, Agence France-Presse said, and those films “are subject to heavy censorship of any scenes where actresses are scantly dressed.”

What can we expect
by Kamangir on Tue Mar 18, 2008 07:25 AM PDTWhat can we possibly expect from a country where the public transport is sex/gender segragated? where women do have to swim in the islamic attire at the beach? where the 'sighe' allows you to carry out all sort of nasty things, considered as prostitition elsewhere? where the capital city police chief is found with six naked women? Where women are not allowed to many sporting events. This is Iran, the result of BBC's branded 'revolution'
Revolution my a.....!
