France Charles De Gaulle was a Great Admiror of the Shah and it was reciprocal. Here is his State visit to Iran in 1963 which includes De Gaulle's Inauguration of French Razi School new Buildings as well as a visit by De Gaulle of Tehran the Military Academy.

Je me rappelle avoir vu des images du voyage officiel de VGE en Iran dans un numero du magazine Jours de France de l'époque. Si vous avez accès à ces archives, je crois qu'il vous sera possible de retrouver ce reportage. Malheureusement j'ai oublié la date de ce numéro.

No I don't I just have photos of the Shah and Farah visiting Giscard in France in 1974 and 78 but not of Giscard visiting IRan. I did see one of him in the Book Elements of Destiny where Giscard who appears VERY Tall next to the Shah visit the Shahyad Monument.

If I find other or if other friends or bloggers do It would be nice to collect them and post them for the Pictory Section because France and IRan have a long history of mutual admiration and love.

I am particularly impressed by the girl who greets De Gaulle in this footage. Her French is PERFECT and she has NO ACCENT and even better than many who speak the language in France today. She speaks with a typical French accent and rich vocabulary which truly is dissappearing in French schools today.

It is indeed a source of pride.

Dear DK, a memory that I have is from when I was in junior high school; Kharazmi Pahlavi.  Valery Giscrad d' Estaing was president of France and he was visiting Tehran at the time.  School kids were lining up to welcome him and I was one of those kids. I remember that kids cheered Farah more than Shah.  Do you have pictures of that visit? That would be nostalgic.  Thanks.
