Youth and people of Tibet are making the conscious leap of separating their religious beliefs from politics and matters of their state , which is the right historical call on their part.
For a while now, Dali Lama has been a stopping force for the movement of people and it is time to let new non-religious leaders flourish.
Human rights situation in Tibet has been very grim under the Chinese rule and that is not to undermine the violations that were committed by the prior Dali Lama's. //www.youtube.com/watch?v=m5-8ucnBTuE

I think I have to agree with you on that
by ramintork on Fri Mar 21, 2008 10:31 AM PDTAs much as I like and respect the Dalai Lama I have to agree that the Tibetan freedom movement has not benefited from his political leadership.
In fact the Hollywood interest seem to have been a double edged sword in that it has created more awareness but has further angered the chinese.
I think Global consumer pressure could have some impact. Perhaps a campaign by the so many known figures and a threat that people would stop buying chinese goods would change some attitudes and make the chinese adhere to human rights issues.
