hate and rage of 79
by IRANdokht on Mon Apr 21, 2008 08:27 AM PDTIt brought back real awful memories of life right after 1979
In early days of the Iranian Revolution in 1979, Reza Shah's mausoleum
was destroyed by bulldozers and dynamite under the direction of
Ayatollah Sadeq Khalkhali, which was sanctioned by Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini. In Ayatollah Sadeq Khalkhali's memoirs Book is described, how difficult was to destroy the building. (The book is in farsi). Sadegh Khalkhali tried also to bulldoze both Ferdowsi's tomb and Persepolis, before the provisional government stopped him.
The degree of rage and hate that we have witnessed is nightmarish. It was a miracle that some of our national treasures survived those black days.
