The judgment day that wasn't!

The judgment day that wasn't!

Congratulation to all. You survived the judgment day :-) Or may be we are all in heaven already!

If anything hopefully some gullible folks learned not to rely on 89 year old men reading from a 2000 years old book on cosmic predictions. Such predictions, if any, should come from 30 somethings based on computer simulations and telescope observations perhaps.

One thing I recommend is to put this fellow preacher (Harold Camping) brain (assuming he got one!) in an FMRI machine and monitor his neural activity before and after he realizes that Jesus ain't coming! After all what we call "belief" is nothing perhaps but bunch of neurons firing relentlessly together! :-) In his case there must be some short circuit!

While Mr. Harold Camping is best to go camping for now, there is so much to blame him for. After all his source of wisdom was a book that has inspired billions to this day! So blame it on the message not messenger!

But honestly, say you were Jesus, wouldn't you just out of good of heart to save face for your most staunch advocates, do something, like at least some smoke or wind? Poor fellow was thrown under the bus. It certainly was a doomsday, his! :-)

Now to tell you how stupid these folks are, I say how a scientist would have predicted such a thing. There would be certainly no sharp deadline. A scientific prediction would be like this:

"There is a 95% chance that Jesus would shuttle down the sky on May 21 +/_ 5 days!"

Lots of folks didn't realize world was supposed to end yesterday

by Disenchanted on

I suppose folks in Europe and other parts of the world missed the end of the world (or so it was supposed to be!) yesterday. They don't know how lucky they are able to see the daylight today! :-)

I gather they may not know what I am talking about!

Ali A Parsa

What a surprise!

by Ali A Parsa on

I wonder why I should be the first one to comment on this. What happened to those of us who are obcessed with criticizing thing of this sort if they happened in Iran? I am referring to thw America's Harold Camping prophecy on the end of the world on May 21, 2011 that did not happen! In fact we did have such ridiculous predictions, but in very distant past. One I recall is the following:

In 7th Century A.H. during the Seljug reign, Anvari, a famous and arrogant poet warned the country of a destructive storm that did not come. Anvari was ridiculed by another opposition poet by writing the following poem.

گفت انوری که از وزش بادهای سخت

ویران شود سراجه و کاخ سکندری

درروز حکم او نوزیدست هیچ باد

یا مرسل الریاح تودانی وانوری

I am sure that those who choose to close their eyes to  ridiculous ideas in other places including America will choose other things to pick on, again only in Iran.

It makes sense to educate the Americans by making them more informed because after all what we do to make this a better place and home the better our world would be. It is time to recognize that our present and our former home are endangered as America is dragged into the impossible game of the world domination that has so far brought disaster not only to the wrold, but to the security of Jewsh people since their failure to dominate Europe. The Jewish state that has no mercy on its own people cannot save others. The survival of America and the world depends on steering away from dominating the world under the illusion of conquering the world. The misadventure that has so far failed.
