I really miss him. I knew him when I went for a conference in Isfahan and he played a short play. I really enjoyed it that time and when I heard that he has passed away I really got sad.
I hope he is always happy as he always made people happy.

Monda - You Are Missing the Point
by Anonymous111 (not verified) on Mon Dec 15, 2008 12:39 PM PSTYou say:
"I'm sorry that you don't share our admiration and respect for this..."
Who said that? For the millionth time, I have nothing against the guy...I just don't like his style of comedy...that's all. I personally did not know him, and do not know of any other work that he has done aside from his comedy, and that is why I am not calling him a good or a bad person...I know about his comedic work, and of that, I am not a fan...that's all.

by Monda on Mon Dec 15, 2008 12:26 PM PSTI'm sorry that you don't share our admiration and respect for this extremely prolific, talented artist. Arham Sadr was sincerely loved by many, not limited to his native Isfahan, for his quality of humanity and generosity as well as his creative presentations of social commentaries.

by Monda on Mon Dec 15, 2008 11:42 AM PSTEbi my heartfelt sepaas to you for sharing these clips with us. I met him when I was a kid and watched the man as he was talking with my parents during our visits to Isfahan. The first time I saw him on stage, I could not understand why people laughed at him on stage. As an adult I found him a serious talent, not only for making people laugh but for his clarity of mind.
P.S. Excuse me but what is this AKA business? Did you go to Hadj?

by Anonymous111 (not verified) on Mon Dec 15, 2008 07:48 AM PSTThe word "party" was used as an allegory, and should not be taken literally...it was designed to lower the tempo on the over the top and pointless grief orgy that is too often seen in these situations.
Second, I don't believe that it is necessary for evryone to say nice things about anyone who passes, even if that person is a well known artist. And that is aside from the fact that I said nothing bad about him and simply said that I din't like his style of comedy...am I obliged to say that I loved his work (even if I didn't) just because he's dead?!! Besides, unless you know the person individually, or if the person has been engaged in some kind of work that has benefited the society (such as Paul newman and his charitable work) I don't know how you can praise that individual as a "good person". Being a celebrity and a funnuy man / woman does not automatically and necessarily make someone a nice person---even if he / she is dead!!
Johnny Carson was a beloved comedian as well. But he was also someone who had a record of abusing his wife(ves). So, I didn't praise him after his death either.
In short, get a grip and don't take this so personally!
God bless him

by IRANdokht on Sun Dec 14, 2008 09:50 PM PSTDear Anonymous111, this is not a party!
When an artist passes, there are people who remember him/her and speak a few nice words to show respect and gratitude for his/her work.
You're entitled to your opinion, but I find your criticism in poor taste and very tacky at this time. I hope you show better manners when you go to a funeral.

I hate to be the party pooper here...
by Anonymous111 (not verified) on Sun Dec 14, 2008 09:24 PM PST...but I never really found him funny....I just don't like slap stick comedy....
Thanks Hajj Ebi Jaan...
by Khar on Sun Dec 14, 2008 04:51 PM PSTI also loved the man! First time I remember seeing his show live I think I was 7 or 8, I'm sure he is still making people laugh in the heavens. Ravanash Shaad!

I missed the news...
by alborz on Sun Dec 14, 2008 12:58 PM PST.... and I am saddened by it by very much. As a child I used to go to his theater during the Norooz holidays and the family visits in Isfahan.
I also had the privilage of meeting him in person at a private gathering in LA and developed an immense respect for him. He was not just a wise comedian, but also a wise and deeply thoughtful person. During the entire evening in his presence, he spoke eloquently about his life, his memories, and commented on the circumstance of life in Iran. There was no humor. Just heartfelt sharing of thoughts and views. There was silence in the room as we attentively listened to every word he uttered.
He symbolizes everything that was good and decent about what we had and reminds us once again of its loss.
In the hope for another Iran with higher aspirations and more compassion. Iran has lost her foremost social commentator, critic and source of joy for an entire nation.
Thanks Ebi.
