I was born & raised in Tehran, but my parents are from kerman.I always consider myself as much Kermani as Tehrani.A lot of poeple who know me think that I was born in Kerman, but raised in Tehran!?since,I always talk about kerman, and have a very strong nostolgic feeling for it.Don't get me wrong,I love Tehran, but don't know why anytime, anywhere;I hear, read about Kerman,or see a Kermooni;" Feelam Yaade Hendestoon Mikoneh".
What do you think? is this a wrong feeling!?
P.S.
I post a nice video from Kerman.Hope you enjoy it.

Tehrani -Kermani
by Siboo (not verified) on Tue Jun 03, 2008 03:49 PM PDTMost of us, whom call ourselves "Tehranis", are originally from another city(our parents or grandparents), but to accept and confess it, is sometimes hard for some Tehranis'!!!.
That is what happens to our next generation in USA(American-Iranian)!!I hope they will be proud of being an Iranian too.
I ,like my brother Ebi,am also proud to have such a lovely parents who born & raised in Kerman.Although they came to Tehran when they were young, they have never changed their accent to Tehrani and they tought us the good behaivour of Kermanis'[ to be "Mehmannavaz and bashardoust"].
Kerman is one of the most important city which exports many non-oil based things and makes lots of foreign exchange. some of them to mention is: pistashio nuts, Citruse, Date, carpets, copper (Messe Sarcheshmeh), Pateh and Termeh.
Kerman has many historical places to visit such as:
Baghe Shazdeh(Mahan), Shah Nematollah (Mahan), Arg Bam(Old & New), Bazar, Hamame Ganjalikhan, Coin Musume, which many people from around Iran and the world visit every year, and one of our famouse poet, Khajou Kermani's Tomb is in Shiraz which is another historical place in Iran.
Kerman is well known for its beautiful sky at nights so you see thousands of stars in the sky like they are very close to the earth.
Kerman has many famouse people as Ebi mentioned before.
Kerman has many universities in different science field.
Kerman well known pastry and cookies are: Kolompeh, Komache Sen, Ranginak, Noone charkhi, pofak(white),Bread(Noone Roghani and Noone Barbarie Kerman),
and Falodeh Kermani(specially the one in Bazar).
Kerman's foods are: Bozghormeh(Goat meat with Kashk and beans),Kababe Koubideh, Kababe mahitabeh(very delicouse), and many others.
But unfortunately Agha Mohamadkhan made a generation of Kermany people blind with ordering to take their eyes out and made a generation blind in Kerman!!!
I have many reletives and friends in Kerman whom I miss.
Best Wishes
Siboo

by Kurdish Warrior (not verified) on Tue Jun 03, 2008 12:37 PM PDTAre you for real? I’m not sure what part of Iran you visited but as far as I know, in Baneh, Marivan, Kermashan, Zahedan, Saravan, situations in terms of human rights and economics is just getting worst. So the system has interfered in their ordinary life.
Nice
by IRANdokht on Tue Jun 03, 2008 09:11 AM PDTDear Ebi

Thanks for introducing your city to the rest of us who did not have the pleasure.

by XerXes (not verified) on Tue Jun 03, 2008 07:35 AM PDTIran is free. Not as free as we would like it to be, but free enough. Much more than Shah's time, except the drinking in public part. To visit any cities in Iran besides Northern Tehran, you would not see much of the difference what kind of government is ruling. People live and always live the way they have lived regardless of the system. Go back to Iran and visit our beautiful country to realize what I am saying.
Don't Listen to Shaholahis, they are confused and clueless.
Thanks!
by M.Hojjat,Ph.d (not verified) on Tue Jun 03, 2008 12:32 AM PDTI am a proud Kermani. I always hear good comments about Kermanian.
Unfortunately, the previous & of course current govenments have not pay attention to this city as they do to other cities like Tehran & Esfehan. Kerman is very rich province which produces pistashio nuts, Kerman carpets and also copper mines are located in this city.
I hope in my life time to see all Iranian cities get equal attention.

by Anonymously (not verified) on Mon Jun 02, 2008 05:45 PM PDTNice video clip. Kerman is a very nice city and I think is one of the oldest city in Iran. It has also the largest zoroasterian community in Iran and that is wonderful to have such a great people (true Iranian) in Kerman.
