Recently a friend of mine attending a June event, was faced with a comment about the latest Sex and the City movie. The comment was that apparently according to this person's read in the NYTimes, the Moslem world was up in arms over the portrayal of scantily clad women in the film while on an imagined vacation in "Arabia". The comment made was by a Jewish lady in the group, who proceeded to go on about Iran next.
So we have an American Jew, talking about a film shot in Morocco, that apparently has insulted ALL the Moslems in Arabia, and then somehow linked it all back to Iran, (not an Arab country). Because they're obviously related.
WOW! WOW 2: The Sequel!
On the Iranian side, we have a massive festival planned for this Sunday, to apparently celebrate the ridiculous election results of last June. You see, even after 30 years of consistent oppression and demonstrated tyranny, it turns out that all Iranians had to do to get rid of the Godtatorship, was click their heels, put on a Green T-Shirt, and merely cast their vote! Because elections are naturally fair!
You mean they're not?
Americans watch in tear-filled horror as a volunteer hoses down a pelican with Dawn dish-washing liquid to remove oil from the BP spill in the Gulf of America (Mexico? To me it will always be the Gulf of America). Meanwhile, everyone from the Coast Guard to the President is actually expecting BP to clean up the mess. BP should pay for the clean up, but you don't actually entrust them to do the work. The accident proves their ineptitude. That and being an Oil company makes them suspect. No surprise then, that all of the attempts so far have been to try and SAVE the well, not stop the flow of oil. One well placed detonation would have done that hours after the accident. You see, BP has to recoup it's investment in this well, which was over budget when the accident happened, and I'm not sayin', Aw! Hell, I'll say it, (it's not like they will have any money left to sue me with after the criminal trial) they probably cut corners to get the oil going that caused the disaster. Probably. And no one, but no one is asking Sarah Palin to comment.
Spill! Baby! Spill!
So who is the bigger moron?
NASCAR Americans with their naive idea of how the world works? Or Iranians with their dogged patience, like a Buddhist with Down's Syndrome Meditating (is he meditating or is he retarded?). Quietly hoping that when they finally come out of their coma, somehow, someone good will come out of somewhere, and right all the wrongs and save us all?
Who's more gullible?
Americans who believe the women in Islam who say they want, like, and choose to wear the Hejab? Or Iranians who still think that Reza Pahlavi is cute and harmless, and only in it for the greater good, and not some sick redemption of his questionably dubious family name?
Who is more deluded?
Americans who think the Tea Party is nothing more than a bunch of pissed off men and the women that love them? Who happen to all be working class white? Or Iranians who think that they are white and that the best thing to do while taking a beating from a Basiji, is to Tweet about it, as your friend records it on his cellphone's video camera, later to be set to a Kiosk (or Mohsen Namjoo!) song and uploaded to YouTube so that as many as 400 "friends" on Facebook can click that x in the popup to close it.
So in the end, my friend, I'm not sure who's smarter. Americans or Iranians? Certainly both governments have us pegged well, and keep us entertained and occupied with a slew of sleight of hand tricks, and their misdirected mis-deeds. We are like oblivious kittens playing with a piece of string. Or innocent lambs really, because lamb tastes better than kitten.
Morons, Morons, Everywhere, and No One Left Who Thinks!

I did enjoy reading your poignant, yet humorous blog, very much.
((Just one thing though. It's "who's" (who is) the moron, not "whose", although "whose" , well yes ...))
"Iranians with their dogged patience, like a Buddhist with Down's Syndrome Meditating (is he meditating or is he retarded?)."
That's a classic. Thanks.
