Newstands are everywhere in Tehran, near metro stations, in parks, sidewalks and everywhere. It is a habit to stop by newstands and browse the front page news and newspapers that are on the ground. The more important the news the more gatherings.
I hope the above image comes up ledgible but Ettelaat is one of Iran's major newspapers and Farhadi is on the front page big picture and all! There are also more inside on page 3 with another picture, congratulations including that of former President Khatami and what he had said in his speech.
Notice that Leila Hatami is taller than the rest in the picture! This is great and couldn't have come at a more better time right before Norooz and the new year celebrations!
Happy Festivus and Festivus For the Rest of Us!

Everything is sacred
EA, regarding that stat
by Reality-Bites on Tue Feb 28, 2012 12:10 PM PSTSo, do we take it that NO Iranian is undecided on how they feel about the movie or just doesn't care either way? Nada? Zilch? Nothing?
That's really disappointing! What happened to all the "just shrug your shoulders" Iranians then?
Congrats to all of them...
by Bavafa on Tue Feb 28, 2012 11:17 AM PSTWell deserved.
'Hambastegi' is the main key to victory

Farhadi is far out!!
by Ari Siletz on Tue Feb 28, 2012 11:15 AM PSTA big congratulations to the "Separation" team, indeed to all Iranians.
This includes the "Supreme Censor" Javad Shamaghdari, who can otherwise stuff it! We would have more Oscar winning films if he didn't interfere.
97% of Iranians are happy with the win while 3% are unhappy!
by Esfand Aashena on Tue Feb 28, 2012 10:57 AM PSTThey are the same 3% who want war and conflict.
Everything is sacred
Congratulations

Congratulation to all the Iranian around the world

Faramarz jaan it's a "maxi" skirt!
by Esfand Aashena on Tue Feb 28, 2012 07:35 AM PSTSkirts are allowed as long as they are maxi! She has her scarf pinned to the back of her hair which is certainly not Islamic but a scarf over the hair none-the-less!
Whatever the case we have come a long way from days where one strand of woman's hair generated electricity to the strands of beautiful hair of Leila Hatami and Sarina Farhadi which are generating nuclear power! For peaceful purposes of course!
Everything is sacred
Esfand Jaan
by Faramarz on Tue Feb 28, 2012 07:07 AM PSTShe has a black scarf on her shoulder which is part of her ensemble, but she is wearing a skirt. So I don't think that she is doing the Hejab thing even by Khatami standard.
I like Peyman Moadi's pictures. He looks like he is having a good time. By the way, he looks incredibly like the Russian assassin in Bourne Supremacy.

Scarf on! Scarf off!
by Esfand Aashena on Tue Feb 28, 2012 06:56 AM PSTFaramarz jaan I think I have seen similar photos of her with scarf on. She wore it half-hazardly though, the way women used to wear it before Ahmadi came along!
If you see her picture here you'll notice the same scarf is on her body, it's black on black so it's hard to see and probably why she wore it that way. I don't think it's a photo shop, I've seen other photos of her with that scarf.
Interesting enough note the white tux and the overall taghooti ensemble of the Iranian delegation!
Everything is sacred
If You Notice
by Faramarz on Tue Feb 28, 2012 06:41 AM PSTFarhadi's daughter, Sarina is now wearing a head scarf in this picture! But the photo shop looks clumsy.
Thanks Esfand.
