This Friday is the much celebrated William and Cate's wedding in London. I can't think of a more cheezier wedding except maybe some of the Hollywood's expensive weddings of the old and famous, their third or fourth weddings which ended up in divorce fairly soon. Still, William and Cate tops them all and is the mother of all cheeziest weddings!
When Diana got married TV wasn't as it is today with 200 channels some having "special" correspondents to the Windsor palace and giving all the details and the knockoffs of Cate's dress, hairstyle and all the other crap that goes with it! And then they claim the couple wants the wedding to be "private" sort of like when Tiger Woods wanted to have a private life when it was discovered that he had dozens of mistresses!
Private my arse! Romantic my arse! Nothing is private or romantic about this wedding. They've invited Islamic Republic and bunch of other shamsi kooreh, arr va oorehs! This is anything but private and romantic and more importantly it has become a nuisance. Even our local news have special reporters covering this event and we can't get away from it! Last night they had a Lifetime movie about these two (picture) and I tell you having seen couple of scenes while flipping through channels they couldn't be any more awful! They're probably the same in person.
I'm sure after they get married there will be "trouble in paradise"! No couple who have gone through a lavish cheezy wedding and "made" so much news have been able to stay together. They won't be able to fill the vacuum and will start infighting and the rest will be history!
So I can't wait for these two to get married! How did we ever get in this mess in the first place?!

There is no turning back at this point!
by Esfand Aashena on Thu Apr 28, 2011 10:18 AM PDTThese are the worse moments and he feels suffocated and imprisoned but can't get out! On the other hand Cate is dreaming about a dream wedding with a real prince and basking in glory and lovey dovey stuff!
The good news is that the cold feet will go away the day after once they're official and they start their life together. The problem will become when and if they try to "test" each other, again like the Faramarz short stories!
While it seems William would be the "Trophy" husband, all indications are that Cate has a tight grip on his jewels and he is screaming bloody murder!

by yolanda on Thu Apr 28, 2011 09:47 AM PDTIf he really gets cold feet, he has no freedom to stop the wedding at this point.......after the wedding, people will anticipate the next big news: Kate's pregnancy..........I truly hope they live happily ever after.......I still remember that Diana's wedding was spectacular, but the marriage was so tragic!

"Last Day of Freedom" there may be trouble in paradise already!
by Esfand Aashena on Thu Apr 28, 2011 07:19 AM PDTMaybe maybe not, but looks like he is getting cold feet but too late to do anything about it! Maybe he ends up being one of the husbands in Faramarz's short stories!

He is not paying for anything! Not even his own doomadi suit!
by Esfand Aashena on Mon Apr 25, 2011 09:06 AM PDTHis "salary" is that of a Military man so he can only take his wife on a trip to Karaj! On the other hand this wedding is costing $34M of which UK tax payers pay $32M and the remaining $2M is paid by Queen and Charles.
William doesn't even want to pay for the cooks and maids and their house will probably end up being a pig house causing "trouble in paradise"!

Esfand jaan: He is paying for this wedding
by Bavafa on Mon Apr 25, 2011 08:56 AM PDTwith his own hard earned cash and he should be entitled to what kind of a wedding he wants to have since he is paying for it.
I just wish I could get a similar job that pays as such.

P.S. Don't forget, British much like Iranians, women wear the pants in the household and let men have the illusion of being in charge
This does sound possessive
by Anahid Hojjati on Mon Apr 25, 2011 08:53 AM PDTEsfand jan, thanks for your explanation. This does sound possessive,.
..........
by yolanda on Mon Apr 25, 2011 08:50 AM PDTPossessive is a sign of insecurity!
Generally men are possessive in the beginning!
by Esfand Aashena on Mon Apr 25, 2011 08:51 AM PDTAnahid jaan when I said possessive I meant it in the context of advent of cell phones and texting.
When a couple starts dating sure men call and text the same for hours on end. Then after they get to third base they start to slow down and don't like to be on phone all the time!
On the other hand, after third base, women increase the level of cell phone contact! When the man doesn't answer she'll put the phone on re-dial so the man's phone gets hundreds of missed calls on top of hundreds of texts! They probably don't even realize that they are scaring away the man!
Everything is sacred
Esfand jan, dear, honey, men can be possessive too
by Anahid Hojjati on Mon Apr 25, 2011 08:45 AM PDTDon't you think so? you can't just say men or women. There are men and women who are possessive. Besides, what do you define as possessive? I think you might even have a wrong definition in mind. Could you explain your definition of possessive, honey , so I won't be possessive towards you :))).
I can believe Cate was possessive! Faramarz just confirmed it!
by Esfand Aashena on Mon Apr 25, 2011 08:31 AM PDTBesides with the advent of cell phones and texting and women being on phone all day, most women have become possessive these days!

by Faramarz on Mon Apr 25, 2011 08:00 AM PDTThese British lads all want a mommy!
Charles had the mum in Lady Camilla and Diana was too young and innocent for him.
Cate on the other hand seems mature and is the one that is wearing the pants in that relationship!
My bet is that it will last and Billy will be the next King of England!

You Guys are very pessimistic
by Maryam Hojjat on Mon Apr 25, 2011 07:51 AM PDTI am sure these two are going to do much better than Charlez & Diana.
What comment?
by Esfand Aashena on Mon Apr 25, 2011 07:50 AM PDTYolanda what comment did William make about Cate? I think part of the reason they're together is the matter of "convenience" for William. I mean if he breaks up with her who else is he going to choose again?
Nobody is going to say no to him and quite the contrary they'll fight each other to death! So he can never trust her to be a loving spouse and will always be suspicious of her! With Cate at least she's out in the open already and is by default his spouse! I think they'll have a better chance than Diana but still this is just too cheezy to believe in!

by yolanda on Mon Apr 25, 2011 07:40 AM PDTHi! Mouse,
I agree with you 100%.......I recall they called Diana/Charles wedding the wedding of the last century....but their marriage only lasted for 7 years.......the ending was tragic..........Charles said he never loved Diana! Diana had a boyfriend while she was still married.......of course, Charles was with Camilla from the very beginning.....I am interested to see if William/Cate marriage can outlast Diana/Charles'...........just remember William had cold feet about their relationship........he dumped Cate for a while and he made a comment that it is not fun any more!
Very good point:
No couple who have gone through a lavish cheezy wedding and "made" so much news have been able to stay together.
