Do not mind Rush

He was once arrested for forging a prescription or driving under influence.He drug habit has gotten so bad that it has effected his hearing and he has to wear an implant in his ear.So do not mind what he says just change the station.I used to listen to his show but I got tired of his hate mongering and I no longer listen to his show.People eventually are going to get tired of his show too and stop listening to him .People who want peace won't listen to him.

I heard a clip of him doing his gush fest for Sarah Palin after the debate with Joe Biden, and he laughed at Joe Biden for saying that Ahmadinejad is not the person in charge of nuclear issues in Iran and that the structure of Iran renders him powerless in that arena.

Rush is an idiot and any degree of deep knowledge obliterates him. He tells his listeners to NOT listen to the news so that he can filter it and tell them about it. You have to be missing chunks of your brain to take someone like that seriously.

I wouldn't put it past them. Even if true, they won't attempt it before a while. There is the well funded civil national security force to be formed first, remember? I don't know, has this progressive-version-of-brown-shirts air about it, but then again so what? If formed, it will certainly be used only to eradicate "hate". Which is a good thing, right? Everything is going to be just fine.

Can someone tell my why they even care?

For 30 years, Iranians have had this regime, suffered under it, and no one said a damn word. Hannity and Limbaugh said nothing. Now they have an enemy to rally their listeners against since the President was REpublican and everyone has lost faith in the war. Iran is a new pinata. THose people don't care one bit. They just listen to those dumb Ahmadinejad quotes and think Israel gives a damn about them and they decry Iran. 

Iran could have had a bomb or 4 bombs and nothing would be different. These talk radio hosts are a big waste of time. They are worse than MTV because at least MTV supports the artists and creative spirits or hot people. Rush and Hannity are two fat white guys with nothing better to do. I've met janitors, waiters and phone operators with more sense than those dunces.

Your point well taken but I think such risks were significantly higher before the election.

The degree of security and secret service protection that Mr. Obama enjoyed as a candidate would pale compared to what he will recieve as a president. If he was safe in open crowds of 100,000+, the risk will be significanly less now that he is president.

There is no need to impair constitution. These kinds of talks will die down with time.

That is all Rush and Sean do. they have to make money, but what they do is unethica. It's not just ANOTHER VIEW. There are serious conservatives, but Rush isn't one and he doesn't make the case for conservatism. He makes the case for jackassery. So personally, I'd like him to stay. And the Fairness Doctrine is great. It will win over lots of conservatives..... kind of like an englightenment!! Rush's days are numbered anyway.

change the station

Don't like a particular radio station? it's easy switch to another station. no one is forcing you to listen to it.personaly I found limbaugh boring to listen to. Be that as it may be, talk radio is the only free medium that we can rely on now and days.

As for BO, don't worry about him. he is raised by the corrupt 'daily' machine of chicago among charlatans and thugs, unless you think his raise to the top was all accident. now that is change that we can believe in!

Would you be kind enough to give example of this hate speech? While it is widely known that neither Rush Limbaugh (or as he is known by Marge Simpson, as "He Who is a Pain in His Own Ass") and Sean Hannity did not believe Barack Obama to be the better candidate, I do not see where they are mongers of hate against him. His politics, yes.

Political campaigns have become more incendiary because of one thing: ratings. TV and radio need to sell advertising time and they command higher rates when they have higher ratings. It's a very ugly reality.

I also am curious to know if all of the negative things said by the likes of Keith Olbermann, whose anti-GOP commentary borders on vitriolic were to light a fuse to incite some nutjob of any color to cause harm to a conservative poiltical figure, would you seek to hold the liberal commentator accountable with the same zeal that you wish to see for Limbaugh or Hannity?

I find it curious that there are those who espouse liberal views and proclaim themselves to be tolerant, yet cannot accept the fact that there are differing views out there.

IRANdokht, I normally don't listen to Limbaugh, because AM radio static gives me a headache. But I listened to him on Wednesday and did not have any hateful rhetoric towards Obama. All of his anger was directed towards the McCain campaign staff who he said failed miserably where the Obama staff was very successful. He actually said that this may prove to be a goodthing to happen to the GOP, because it will force them to regroup and reorganize. He said as the Democrats were clear with their message, the GOP was not and that contributed to the results.

I was pretty surprised by how analytical it was without the usual anti-liberal rhetoric.

Leave FREE SPEECH alone, we live in a democracy

It's one thing to say how much you hate this show or that show.  You say you want to do something about talk radio? Well don't listen to it! We have something in this great country of ours called FREE SPEECH. FREE SPEECH is guaranteed in our constitution, we do not live in Iran or Saudia Arabia where dissent gets crushed by the state. What the hell is the matter with you? You see what is happening in our country of origin and you want to silence people who have every right to say what they want as much as you or I or anyone else in this country.  What about hate speech coming from a "holy" man with a long beard and a dirty night shirt? Give me a frickin break! P.S. Go STEELERS!

It is combination of corporate media AND miuse of free speech

First Amendment has been misunderstood by many. They can push their hate agenda forward and hide behind first amendment. And they have wealth of corporations behind them.

And since media is use to organize and control masses their message usually comes with awful consequences.

But considering US laws and culture there is very little that can be done about it. Our sole job is to educate others. Most people listening to right wing shows are under educated citizens so one thing President Elect Obama can do is that when he comes to office to make education among his first priority.

You should be glad for Rush Limbaugh for this reason

Rush limbaugh's NUMBER ONE priority is making money. He will say anything no matter how offensive and stupid to get us to listen and be happy or outraged.

By behaving that way, he wins a few "converts" but mostly, he makes it harder for Republicans to win elections and adapt to mainstream America.  

He is a hypocritical coward who got a free pass out of Vietnam because of a hemroid. I'm not joking. 

BUt you're right, the vote would not have been split if the fear and hate about Obama and his family wasn't spread by these low-lives.

I used to listen to Rush Limbaugh all the time. I didn't agreee with 90% of what he was saying, but that's what I like to do: Listening to dissent.

I don't remember him ever advocating "hate". Do you call it hate, because you don't agree with it, or can you come up with a concrete example of a 'hateful speech' made by him, or any of these people?

Dear Mr Fateh

I do not have the tolerance to actually tune into those talk stations and suffer through those stupid comments of Rush Limbaugh and the likes of him, but I take your word and believe that they have raised it a few notches because I am sure they would not accept people's vote gracefully.

Please let us know what you have in mind and where you think we should submit the complaints. I'll sign up because what you described has been a source of anxiety for me since Mrs Clinton was kind enough to suggest it a while ago!
