To all the Iranians in military uniform,
Our country is on the edge of new era. It’s on the verge of a big change. After 30 years of oppression and brutality by the hand of the Fascist regime, the Iranians are saying “no more.”
The regime has lost any legitimacy, if it had any to begin with. The vast majority of Iranians support the people’s unprecedented uprising, and the world, in an unprecedented show of solidarity, is fully behind the people of Iran.
This is not about Mousavi. It’s about the Iranian people’s urge for freedom. This is an irreversible movement. Even if the regime is able to crush this uprising, the trend of its ultimate collapse has officially started.
The regime solely and desperately depends on you in the uniform to last a few more days in power. Already, we’ve seen thugs and murderers form the official and un-official military units massacring our people. You have to understand that at this point of time you have to make an important decision. Either join people’s struggle for a free Iran, or stand against them and risk an eternal damaged legacy. People will come back and look what did the armed forces, which should be part of the people, do when the people stood against oppression. Remember that the Shah wasn’t overthrown just with protests on the streets, he was overthrown by strikes and military rebellion along with demonstration. Without your assistance, it will be tough for the people to topple the regime. It will be difficult for Iranians to achieve their goal of democracy and freedom.
You have to look at your conscious now and decide what is more important to you: Iran or the regime? A better future for Iran without this regime, or a miserable present and future with this regime.
For Iran’s sake, join the people. The people need you. You do not have to take orders from a Fascist regime that is using you to butcher the same people you supposed to protect. Without your participation, the triumph over tyranny in Iran will be lengthy, costly and bloody. The people have spoken. Iranians consider you part of them. Show them they’re not wrong. Show them you don’t want to kill your innocent brothers and sisters who are asking for nothing but a better future for Iran, an Iran that you are part of too.
Think about how this and next generations of Iranians and how history will judge you. Our great poet Saadi says: Mard nekonam namirad hargez. Become a “nekonam”. Do what’s right for Iran and for the people, and leave a legacy of heroism and humanity. Rebel against the regime and join the people. Do it for Iran and for yourself. Our country has been destroyed in the last 30 years. You can make a difference and provide it with an opportunity for a better future.
Be an Iranian hero and say no to Khamenei’s dictatorship. Disobey his orders. Revolt against the murderers and the blood suckers. Join the people.

SamSam jaan, I guess
by Farhad Kashani on Sat Jun 20, 2009 10:19 PM PDTSamSam jaan,
I guess Ramtin and Sara4578 and Q are glad that this government has established a, like Karim said, a cross between Al Qaeda and hell's angels type armed forces whos least concern is the lives and diginity of Iranian people!
They're glad that this regime has established an army of blood thirsty fundamentalists who have been committing never before seen crimes against humanity against our people.
Samsam jaan, this uprising draw a clear line bewteen who is the enemy of the people and who is a friend of them. Although the countdown for the fall of this regime has officially started and the whole world has seen its true nature, there are still some delusional and twisted people out there that support it. Its sad.

Guys, For the ones
by Farhad Kashani on Sat Jun 20, 2009 12:32 PM PDTGuys,
For the ones who support this letter and are standing with the people of Iran, thanks for your kind words and your solidarity with the people of Iran. I do though, urge you guys and everyone else, to write Farsi versions of your own letters (you’re more than welcome to use this letter too) and post it all over the internet and most importantly, send it to as many connections you have in Iran, specially if they are military/basij/Sepah….We need to reach out to the armed forces, all of them. That’s crucial. Also, reach out to all important human rights organizations, and U.N, and news organizations, and popular websites, and expose, as much as you can, the IRI regime and what is really going on in Iran. I have been doing that extensively the last few days. Guys, it’s crucial.
The regime survives on two things 1- Propaganda 2- extreme brutality using armed forces. We need to counter both. Please be as active as you can. We have only 1 Iran. We can’t lose it.
And to the one and only Q…………
Have you no decency at all? How far down have you stuck your head in the sand not to see people’s uprising and desires right in front of you? Are you that oblivious to the fact that this regime, if it had any to begin with, lost any credibility and legitimacy? You really think this is about Mousavi? You think “thugs “ like you, who use “thuggish” terminology like “to ki bashi”, can stop the people of Iran? Of course no one expects anyone other than a “thug and laat” like you who was proud of “ahamidnexhad” to be a supporter of this “thug and laat” regime.
When Iranians in Iran and all over the world, and the entire world, are expressing their full support and solidarity with people’s uprising, these few remaining brainwashed sick IRI supporters have the audacity to come on here and support the regime. I’m glad that you’re making it more clear that people like you are nothing but enemies of our brave citizens in Iran.

Petition to get Google to update satellite images of Tehran
by ramintork on Sat Jun 20, 2009 12:22 AM PDTPlease sign this Petition.
With Khamenei's speech today violence is bound to escalate.
By trying to get Google to update satellite images of Tehran, vital intelligence could be provided to the protesters via the net. IRI already has these resources at their desposal so the images would not be used against the protesters but would provide up to date information.
Lives could be saved.

Then it is time for each of them to make up his mind and take a side, side of "Islamic Republic and Islam" or side of "Iranians and Iran"; and if they choose the side of "30 years of oppression and murder, thievery and corruption", they will face the "Iranian" justice as their brother Saddam did, if not tomorrow, then some day soon.
Remember Hitler and his hooligans when faced the justice at Nuremberg, and Hitler was not there to help them out and neither did their excuse of "they just followed order".
Farhad, To ki bashi?
by Q on Fri Jun 19, 2009 07:29 PM PDTOh Yes, Farhad, they should listen to you of all people. Why?
You care about them. You spend your time writing about their families, sacrifices, their religion and sacred beliefs. You defended their poor kids having access to Universities and raised the salaries and their government-paid benefits.
Even if by some miracle, they are reading your words on Iranian.com in English, the source should really sell the whole idea!!!
Don't be rediculous. You and your friends spend 30 years demonizing them, and now your asking them to be a "hero"? 1/3 or 2/3 is not important. These are still millions of people loyal to IRI and to Islam. Nothing can be done without their support. And hypocrisy is not a way to earn it.
This is just another grandstanding statement designed to satisfy your own ego, and make you feel like you still matter.

by Terrified and scared... (not verified) on Fri Jun 19, 2009 04:48 PM PDTI beg you not to shoot anyone tomorrow... I beg you...
Not for an old leader, not for islamic republic, not for whatever they pay you, not even for islam and allah...
it is just not worth it... none deserve selling your humanity and your dignity for, and replacing it with blood of our youth on your conscious...
This nation has been shedding blood for freedom for more than a century, and at each turn it ended up taking one step forward and two steps backward.
Iranians deserve more... The same iranians flourish in freedom of the west... why can't they have the freedom at home and flourish at home for all iranians to have a better life...
I beg you to join iranians tomorrow to help them remove the chain of dictatorship of all kinds, specially of the most brutal religious type, from iranian necks.
I am terrified, I am scared, because I know this gang, how brutal and how inhumane they are. They have killed tens of thoussands of our youths in the past 30 years. I beg you to not allow that to re-occur, for Iran's sake, for God's sake.
I am so terrfied, I am so scared tonight, and I am so helpless. But you, the armed frorces can make a big difference, by the simple act of being passive and refusing to shoot: they are none but your own cousins and your own children, asking for so little, a better life for your grand children.
I beg you to think between now and tomorrow. I beg you to place your humanity and your morality above pretence of religion and an old supreme leader - they will all pass but bloody hands can never be cleansed.
I beg you please, please, do not allow many families to mourn tomorrow night and for the rest of their lives. You can do it. You can make a big difference by siding with the people rather than those who ruled iran for 30 years only to bring us at the edge of self-destruction, dictatorship, oppression, and backwardness.
