No doubt; this was McCain's long awaited October Surprise!
by farrad02 on Mon Oct 27, 2008 09:17 PM PDTAny first year political science student could tell you that just about the last hope that John McCain had was an October surprise this week in the area of foreign policy! And this attack on Syria had all the signs of such an attempt!
But Syrians were way too smart to take the bait! And YES, Syrians would undoubtedly do the calculations on how to respond and did most likely consult their Iranian allies on how to respond to this VERY SERIOUS assault on their national security and territorial integrity. But they read Bush's (and the Republicans') hand and opted to help Obama here!
I think this was the biggest news item of the year and every American news outlet decided to look the other way! Arab media are already talking about it !
How
by Iva (not verified) on Mon Oct 27, 2008 07:32 PM PDTHow would Syrians responded back?! This post suggests that Syrians could have retaliated, but it doesn't say how!
I think Syrians are thinking of how to ship in more fools to blow themsleves up!
hope so...

it is surprising...
by IRANdokht on Mon Oct 27, 2008 04:15 PM PDTI heard about this but can't figure out how come they didn't respond.
Is Bashar so insightful? Are they so stripped of their powers that they can't even defend themselves? Did Iran have a role there... why didn't they?
