I have a question

I read in the newspaper of Islamic that the Bob had denied his mission and said that he is not the twelve Imam and he is nothing and he did a mistake. My question is why he is executed after his deny?  That is a paradox you say, I am sorry and I take off my words and still you will be killed? Is it not questionable?
