I am not sure if this has come up before but what is the full story about Rangarang TV? Are they still on air? How did Davar get away with all the obsencities he hurled at his callers? I thought the use of this sort of language in public was against US law? And who is Maurice? This is some of the most obscene but funniest material I have ever heard. Is this stuff for real?

Some of the dialogue on both sides is rich. I haven't laughed so much.

No - Not on Air

by ayatoilet1 on

What happens is, these IRI thugs call him on Skype. When they start saying something stupid, he switches them off air, and then lays into them privately on the call. Meanwhile these IRI bastards record what he says (typically very strong language) and then then they play it on air (with a lot of editing).

This cat and mouse game has been going on for decades. And Davar knows precisely who these people are now. The weirdest thing is that the U.S.. government has given them visas to come to the U.S. and they are strong supporters in the U.S. of the IRI!? You have to wonder why? It makes US. government actions vis-a-vis the regime in Iran somewhat suspicious. Who do they truly support?

But what Davar is doing is not incorrect considering the types of characters he has been dealing with. These callers supporting the IRI and their brutality are scumbags of the 1st order. Very low lives.

But...

Did he really say those things recorded on the videos?

There are no Limits to IRI's Veghahat....

First of all Davar seems to have a clear independent line - separate from the monarchists, mojahedins, and the IRI. This is an important direction for Iran.

Secondly, Davar stands up to the thugs in Iran very well, and knows how to deal with them. It takes someone like him, with his courage to do that.

Thirdly, this is all good drama and in the end has a lot of viewers. Believe it or not becomes highly sought after reality TV - whether its on TV or on Youtube. In the end the numbers speak for themselves.

Fouthly, Davar has survived basically through small donations for decades. This is very few other TV stations have survived. And while others are heavily funded by Israel, Iran, or other governments. That speaks for itself.

Fifth: Its pretty clear that the people that call are from IRI /Basiji groups who are calling to humiliate and put down the station. He is therefore a threat. A clear threat. Anyone who is a threat has to have value. When a guy can run a small operation in Virginia with meager funds and be a threat to the IRI, in poverty - with NO funding except from thousands of small donors - imagine what could be done with a lot more resources.

Sixth: I did a program for a while on his station. I really enjoyed it, and would do it again - if it wasn't for some personal threats me and my family recieved. Davar is a great man of courage. It takes real 'cojones' to do what he is doing.

Finally, these bastards taping his shows, and posting them on youtube with no copyright permission - are all IRI/Basiji bastards. If you do not support the IRI don't support the folks that post these on youtube.
