WAR
by BacheShirazi on Wed Dec 21, 2011 09:44 AM PSTIt's extremly unlikely that America is going to invade Iran. A land invasion is not going to happen .Even air strikes are unlikely. The fact is that no one knows what to do about the Iran Nuclear situation.
Re: war
by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Wed Dec 21, 2011 09:30 AM PSTRG is right I do not think people are united behind the regime. I hear all this bravado from people here. Those with nothing to lose. I have advised Iranian soldiers before about war. Drop your guns; do not fight to prolong the hell.
Both war and IRI are hell and fighting will prolong both of them. It makes no rational sense whatsoever. It is like the Kuwaiti fighting to keep the Iraqi invaders in power. And they will lose anyway with greater damage.
As for mixing sanctions and war I have a guess. This is done by people who oppose sanctions. Because they know more people oppose war. By mixing the two they want to get the anti war people to join anti sanctions. Hence increase their support.

by Dr. Mohandes on Wed Dec 21, 2011 09:21 AM PSTExcellently put. My friend. That is just about covers it all.
he regime's absolute miscalculation is based on the belief that people of Iran will be "united behind the regime" in case of the war,
That is exactly what is happenning and those who believe otherwise are doing nothing but engaging in shallow fantacies and are definitely fooling themselves.
Right on My friend. Right on. keep up the good work,
War vs sanctions
by Arj on Wed Dec 21, 2011 10:31 AM PSTThere seem to be two different issues (intentionally or inadvertantly?) mixed up here! One being a possibility of a war on Iran (and subsequently people who oppose it), and the other, comprehensive sanctions (including those of IRI's oil, gas and central bank) and those who oppose them! Opposing a war on Iran does not tantamount to opposing sanctions against IRI!
With regards to war and people's reactions, even if the entire people of Iran refuse to support IRI in the case of a military attack, a war will still have devastating effects on Iran and Iranians (in some cases beyond repair)! Nonetheless, IRI is open to the notion of military attack for it otherwise will not be able to govern wihtout creating crises of militiary nature (either nuclear, or non-nuclear related!). Moreover, since it does not have any considerations for Iran and Iranians beyond the realm of it's rule and ideology, it has no concerns with regards to any catastrophic consequences of a probable war!
On the other hand, what unnerves IRI the most is the possibility of comprehensive sanctions that would deny it of its cash cow that it needs to feed the repressive apparatus both inside Iran (Sepah, Basij...) and outside (Hamas, Hezbollah...) that helps it perprtuate its rule! Therefore, a comprehensive sanctions system that targets IRI's cash flow and denies it of its financial resources would both help Iranian people overthrow a weakened IRI on their own, as well as avoiding devastating consequences of a war!
Tagh, Tagh (Knock, Knock)
by Tavana on Wed Dec 21, 2011 08:35 AM PSTFYI
The rule/word of 'Taghiyeh' is non-existant in Quran. That is derived from the word 'Taghva' (Cautious/Watchful of GOD) & therefore is a man-made 'rule/word'. The below is the only verse where the exclusive Farsi translation of the word 'Toghata' has been indicated as Taghiyeh
Let not the believers take for friends or helpers unbelievers rather
than believers: if any do that, in nothing will there be help from GOD: except by way of precaution, that ye may guard yourselves from
them. but GOD cautions you (to remember) himself; for the final goal
is to GOD alone. Quran 3:28
جنگ طلبیهای نظام پربرکت
Roozbeh_GilaniWed Dec 21, 2011 06:51 AM PST
Spot on Fred, and shame on these Islamist warmongers!
The source and cause of tensions and increasing risk of military attack on Iran is primarily the terroristic, aggressive behaviour of the Islamist regime, of which, the disasterous pursuit of aquistion of atomic weapons and long range missile systems for it's delivery is a shining example.
The regime's absolute miscalculation is based on the belief that people of Iran will be "united behind the regime" in case of the war, hence prolonging regime's miserable existance for a decade or two more. Those of us who live in Iran and or have families there and visit, can testify to the falacy of this "people united behind the regime in case of war" doctrine. By the look of it, those most united behind the regime for nuclear weapons and war are a bunch of elderly west residing cyber warriers who left Iran back in 1979. These are the people with no relatives, no contacts in Iran and indeed no love for Iran, hence would not suffer in any way in the event of a war on our beloved homeland.
Shame on these islamist warmonger!

by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Wed Dec 21, 2011 06:31 AM PSTRedrum, Redrum, Redrum !!!
by Tavana on Wed Dec 21, 2011 05:26 AM PSTIs it by accident that the word 'hatred' has a 'blood' color, i.e. 'red' in it? The blogger's 2 reps a day of the same old workout is indicative of anything but 'hatred' toward his/her own kind under the 'Redrum' (drunkedly written in reverse, you know!) liquor influence, of course!
Condolences
Forget the nuclear
by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Wed Dec 21, 2011 04:40 AM PSTForget nuclear or illegal. IRI is the problem and got to go: alright? Nuclear my foot! The problem is the miserable actions of the Islamic Republic. Islam forced on people and the VF.
That is what has to go not thing to do with illegal nuclear. I wish people would be honest. Drop the presence and say the reason. Otherwise you are open to responses like Pendar.
Right you are indeed!
by Dr. Mohandes on Wed Dec 21, 2011 04:30 AM PSTSure.
Interesting choice of words, How oxymoronic one can get!
So No attacks whatsoever, No pressure from the outside, But give reform a chance, in a society where the Mafioso has penetrated every single aspect of life, and to top it off , This is the punch line i guess, Let iranians who are deeply disgusted by everything do the hard and dirty work of Reforming.
Fred, as you always say, may i borrow that famous word of yours? KHODETTTTTIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh sorry:)))
Pendar:
Do you realize that based on your recommended and prescribed procedure, the outcome will be the same , no matter what?? As if reforming from within is supposed to not cement the grasp on power!!!!
Jamesh konid baba.

by MeyBokhor_Manbarbesuzan on Wed Dec 21, 2011 03:58 AM PSTSame old same old. You have become a broken record. What is it? have you run out of translations of Michael Ledin's scripts?
I know you have to deliver two pieces a day but please spare us with repeat of repetitions.
Be more imaginative, more inventive -- kind of like Amir Taheri. He can conjure up stories out of nowhere and sell them to all kinds of third rate "news" outlets.

by پندارنیک on Wed Dec 21, 2011 01:46 AM PSTThere is nothing illegal about the Iranian nuclear technology, and there's no credible evidence to prove its alleged military nature.
The state of Israel has to respect the UN Security Council resolution and return to its international borders of pre-67 at once, she is also expected to sign the NPT.
Any military attack will indeed result in fortification and survival of the IRI, which would've otherwise been forced to reform from within by Iranians (single-nationality Iranians, that is).
