Entry for “evolution “in Webster Dictionary:
“A process of continuous change from a lower, simpler, or worse to a higher, more complex, or better state: growth (2): a process of gradual and relatively peaceful social, political, and economic advance d: something evolved”
A certain segment of Islamists who are grasping at straws to save their failed experiment in Islamist Republicanism talk about the “evolutionary process” which has taken hold in Iran thanks to their Islamist vision.
They claim since “Social (as well as biological) sciences tell us that everything must evolve over a period of time. As a result of the 1979 Revolution, the concept of republicanism and a republic directly based on people's votes has been established.”
1-Does the experience of thirty one years of having absolute rule by an unelected lifetime Supreme Leader qualify for such rosy picture?
2-Does the thirty one year history of “voting” in the context of IRR qualify to call such a one man system “a republic”?
3- Isn’t what is going on in IRR the proof that not all the “evolutionary processes” are for the better as the longer the Islamist Rapists are in power the viler they become?
4- Isn’t the nonsensical “voting” in the context of IRR giving the people the lesson that voting will get them nowhere?

Q don't bother trying to get out your aggression on me. I will not reply or read any of your non-impressive anti-imperialist, pro-IRI rants.
It simply turns my stomach when I have to reply to iredeembly rotten, massacre loving gutless fake reformists. Now, I have to go vomit...

vildemose,
by Q on Sun May 23, 2010 04:33 PM PDTwas Frantz Fanon talking about Islam in that passage that you quoted, or is this something you made up?
It is a fact that Black nationalism in North America which was heavily influenced by fannon viewed Islam as a liberating force, so I'm curious where you got your theory from.

How do you describe, my brother, the echo of the voice of a misled believer who stretches his neck, bending over the opening of the well, in order to talk to an imam, who has been living there for centuries?
An apparent sign of neurosis, or is it psychosis?
It is heresy, my brother. Heresy.
Allah will punish heretics.
What else can I say? What else can I do?

Islam's colonization of land, mind, and body
by vildemose on Sun May 23, 2010 09:47 AM PDTis explained by non other than Franz Fanon. Ironically,FF happens to be the icon of anti-imperialist crusaders.
...Every effort is made to bring the colonised person to admit the inferiority of his culture which has been transformed into instinctive patterns of behaviour, to recognise the unreality of his 'nation', and, in the last extreme, the confused and imperfect character of his own biological structure.
A national culture under colonial domination is a contested culture whose destruction is sought in systematic fashion. It very quickly becomes a culture condemned to secrecy. This idea of clandestine culture is immediately seen in the reactions of the occupying power which interprets attachment to traditions as faithfulness to the spirit of the nation and as a refusal to submit. This persistence in following forms of culture which are already condemned to extinction is already a demonstration of nationality; but it is a demonstration which is a throw-back to the laws of inertia. There is no taking of the offensive and no redefining of relationships. There is simply a concentration on a hard core of culture which is becoming more and more shrivelled up, inert and empty.
By the time a century or two of exploitation has passed there comes about a veritable emaciation of the stock of national culture. It becomes a set of automatic habits, some traditions of dress and a few broken-down institutions. Little movement can be discerned in such remnants of culture; there is no real creativity and no overflowing life. The poverty of the people, national oppression and the inhibition of culture are one and the same thing. After a century of colonial domination we find a culture which is rigid in the extreme, or rather what we find are the dregs of culture, its mineral strata. The withering away of the reality of the nation and the death-pangs of the national culture are linked to each other in mutual dependences. This is why it is of capital importance to follow the evolution of these relations during the struggle for national freedom

by SamSamIIII on Sun May 23, 2010 07:42 AM PDTEvolution vs devolution. The same Qadessi-Ommatie status quo pimping crowd use the similar term to explain the cultural/linguistic mis-identity post-Qadessiyeh by calling it the natural process of cultural "evolution". Guess to these Ommatie oafs the modern fate & life of id-less,poor, assimilated, alcohol-ridden, Yopo snorting once proud American native Indians can be called "evolution" too. Atleast in America due to freedom of thought nobody calls it evolution but fruits of subjugation in loss of identity . I bet Hernando De Soto if alive would conveniently call it "evolution" too.
