The first major biography of Mohammad Reza Shah, the last Iranian monarch, in twenty-five years, this insider’s account depicts the unfolding of the shah’s life against the forces and events that shaped the development of modern Iran. New perspectives on key events in Iranian history, including the 1979 revolution, U.S.-Iran relations and Iran’s nuclear program, shed new light on what drives political and cultural currents in a country at the heart of today’s most perplexing geopolitical dilemmas.

I agree with Alborzi
by Nader Vanaki on Thu Feb 05, 2009 04:05 PM PSTThe man abondoned ship. History would have been different had he stayed just like Salvador Allende did in Chile until the last bullet in his pistol.
No sense in analyzing him anymore.
He is dead
by Alborzi (not verified) on Thu Feb 05, 2009 09:28 AM PSTIts amazing that 30 years after he is dead, they are debating, what caused it or was he sick. To me he was a coward for leaving his loyal generals to be executed. But its done he is dead and those days and those generals will not come back. So enough already lets work on world peace.
Thanks for sharing.
