In a time of deceit telling the truth is a revolutionary act

Out of bounds again
by Hovakhshatare on Thu Dec 31, 2009 05:33 PM PSTI recall your initial response endorsed my approach. Except objecting to your comment on my blog I have never responded to you and based on this thread won't in the future. However, I have no reason to flag or otherwise interfere with your expressions as they are a good reflection on the commentator. Good or bad.
As you wish...
by rustgoo on Thu Dec 31, 2009 03:29 PM PSTBy all means; and I'm sure next time you'll come across any of my comments, you'll either, in a well-dignified manner, ignore it or, conveniently flag it.
You asked for a discussion and I am responding to your comments
by Hovakhshatare on Thu Dec 31, 2009 10:50 AM PSThas nothing to do with 3rd parties or judgement.
That Shah lead to Mollahs is an old and tired argument even if it has very limited validity. You are still focusing on Shah and root cause analysis of past several decades. That is not the topic at hand. I do not think this is a very fruitful discussion so lets end it.
Thy judge not your neighbour!!
by rustgoo on Thu Dec 31, 2009 07:15 AM PSTLet's leave the judgment on the comments to the third person who reads them(if any), shall we? Don't you think that Shah's dictatorship resulted in mullahs eventual takeover? Or, is it still a Guadeloupe thing?
This is the discussion you wanted?
by Hovakhshatare on Wed Dec 30, 2009 06:45 PM PSTYour comment and analogy have little to do with what I said or the core subject and are out of bounds much like your original comment.
Comparative; not
by rustgoo on Wed Dec 30, 2009 03:05 PM PSTComparison is misleading; Akhoonds' undeniable crimes and corruption should not and could not be used to vindicate the shah. We can't for instance say every Italian Prime Minister after WWII, is good enough, just because Mousolini was a dictator. Everyone to his/her merit, then.
rustgoo, glad to discuss.
by Hovakhshatare on Wed Dec 30, 2009 12:22 PM PSTThe cliche of shah/sheikh and Shah's action leading to this regime has some merit. However, your earlier comment took that to a level which in my opinion is undeserved and unsubstantiated. Shah made many mistakes contributing to coming of akhoonds but historical facts (which can be discussed in detail) can support that on the edges and not the core reason or driver. Shah's corruption by all evidence pales in comparison to akhoonds and generally speaking comparing the Shah and akhoond beyond historical perspective does not make sense as one was an Iranian benevolent dictatorship and quite nationalistic, while the latter always was a hoax, always based on Erteja' and always anti-Iran.
Freedom of expression in a democratic society
by rustgoo on Wed Dec 30, 2009 11:42 AM PSTThanks for your polite observation/objection which is sometimes a rare commodity in IC; if you want we can discuss the matter in detail. Up to you;
Regards.
rustgoo, your comment is strange, inaccurate
by Hovakhshatare on Wed Dec 30, 2009 10:42 AM PSTand out of place.
