Irandokht aziz , there are two causes for all the above:
by Tahirih on Mon Oct 20, 2008 05:28 PM PDT1) Lack of education.
2) interference of learned and powerful.
Man is the supreme Talisman. Lack of a proper education hath, however, deprived him of that which he doth inherently possess. The Great Being saith: Regard man as a mine rich in gems of inestimable value. Education can, alone, cause it to reveal its treasures, and enable mankind to benefit therefrom. If the learned and worldly-wise men of this age were to allow mankind to inhale the fragrance of fellowship and love, every understanding heart would apprehend the meaning of true liberty, and discover the secret of undisturbed peace and absolute composure. ``Bahaullah`` ,...

NG you're absolutely right
by IRANdokht on Mon Oct 20, 2008 10:42 AM PDTNG jan how can anyone argue with what you said. You said it all and you're absolutely right.
here's a short piece of the lyrics from David's link:
I've seen the nations rise and fall
I've heard their stories, heard them all
but love's the only engine of survival
Your servant here, he has been told
to say it clear, to say it cold:
It's over, it ain't going
any further
And now the wheels of heaven stop
you feel the devil's RIDING crop
Get ready for the future:
it is murder.
It was an emotional day yesterday...
Thank you all for understanding

Dear IRANdokht:
by News Goffer on Mon Oct 20, 2008 08:59 AM PDTHadi Khorsandi is a genius! Thanks for sharing his wit and satire with us.
Now, on to more important things!
I would expect you to have more patience with change than this! Of course the IRI authorities would keep changing their minds and change their promises and say something different at each press conference. Haven't they done it with the nuclear issue? Wherever there is international pressure on them to do anything, they take one step forward and two steps back. It is what I call the IRI dance! If we are lucky, the pressures will make them take two steps forward and one back, so that in time, some progress is made!
But, on the upside, you and others supporting the SCE campaign must remember that if SCE's work was not effective, we would never have heard Mr. Shahroudi say what he did last week. It is a dance, you see, and though things look really hopeless right now, the next move would be in favor of human rights in Iran, you will see. IRI has no choice but to respond positively to international demands and pressure to stop these executions. It is just a matter of time. This is what I think.
I also believe the IRI is reluctant to give even an inch in the area of human rights. Iranian authorities have been quoted in the past to say in private meetings that the reason they wouldn't budge on the nuclear issue is that if the international community is made to believe that pressure on Iran will work, after the nuclear issue they would go after the issue of human rights violations in Iran, and they know fully well what a pandora's box that is. Human rights is an area IRI is not willing, ready, or able to receive pressure and sanctions for, for the sheer reason that their very existence and the legitimacy of their theocracy will be put on the line if modern-day international demands can do away with sharia laws in place for 1,400 years.
Human rights is IRI's Achilles heel and this is where if they heed calls they will deflect the pressure but implode, and if they don't heed the calls they will suffer further isolation which could also lead to an implosion. It is just a matter of time.

My dear Irandokht,
by Azarin Sadegh on Mon Oct 20, 2008 02:25 AM PDTI think we all have good and bad within our own human bodies/brain (since i don't believe in soul)! Those demons you're talking about are nothing but our own invention, our dark side, ...opposing our inner angels.
But I totally hear you today...With the latest news about the execution of children in Iran and elsewhare..we both have enough reason to feel desperate and melancholic, even helpless.
Still,...we shouldn't! And knowing you my dear...you won't! Because you don't have a choice other than keep hanging there for the sake of these kids whose lives are in danger.
Great poem by the way!
