2 videos: Quinteto Romance

Last night I got back from a wonderful three weeks in Mexico. I was staying with my sister, Iran, in Chihuahua, which is a few hours drive south from the Texas border -- where I got my blue Maori whale!

On Friday, the night before my flight, Iran, her friend Paola, and I went to Casa de Dragon -- a Chinese restaurant which has live music on weekends. We saw a Cuban band "Quinteto Romance" perform -- for the second time in a week. In fact they were so good the first time, we had decided to go back. Because of these guys, I have a new appreciation for Cuban music. [photos]

Thanks JJ, us moms rather sit around and play martyrs. Don't worry I'll guilt a proper vacation out of them soon.
But how cool is the big band vibe with the stand up base. You'd think you were at the tropicana and Desi Arnaz was about to sing.

JJ, I'm jealous. What a wonderful vacation you had. It seems like this summer everybody did something interesting but me. My husband took my son to Europe and they just got back. This is what they did last week.
