Are you waiting to be discovered? Here's your chance!
We are having an iranian.com event on April 25 at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco. The show will open with the introduction of fresh new talent.
If you love to perform, if you have an artistic gift, we would love to give you this platform to shine.
Make a short video of yourself performing and email to jj@iranian.com. Or upload it on YouTube and send me the link.
We are looking for comedians, singers/musicians, or even magicians! If you have any other special talent, show us!
Do you know someone who has a special talent? Let them know about this offer and give them the opportunity to perform in front of a great audience at a grand event.
I will tell you more about the event soon. Mark your calendar!

by farshadjon on Sat Feb 28, 2009 06:13 AM PSTDear JJ,
I reviewed the comments for this blog. I suggest that you think about adding a section for buying and selling items here in Iranian.com.It is a great idea.I have lots of items that I can put for sell. What do you think??

by Jahanshah Javid on Thu Feb 26, 2009 06:56 PM PSTMonda Jan!
1) (seriously) do people without a stage talent attend?
Yes of course. They can't perform, but they can attend :o)
2) please decide on auction or no auction before Norooz.
No auction. Almost all artists in the Bay Area donated an art piece for the iranian.com event last year. I feel it would not be appropriate to ask again.
3) please answer this one too, while you're at it: (again) are you attending this event?
Absolutely! I'll be at the event. I'll have dinner with you and friends anytime, but I'm not putting myself on the auction block. Did it last year and the highest bid was $75, I think :o)))
Jahanshah: 3 Questions for you
by Monda on Thu Feb 26, 2009 01:28 PM PST1) (seriously) do people without a stage talent attend? because my cooking, gardening, etc. is highly entertaining to me, not to others, maybe..well not always anyway.
2) please decide on auction or no auction before Norooz. April 25 is just around the corner, really, the more time we have, the better the items would be, e.g. more donations to the site.
3) please answer this one too, while you're at it: (again) are you attending this event or are you going to keep it a secret 'til last minute? If you are there, then a dinner with JJ (and friend, if you're khejaalati, which I doubt) would make a fanstastic auction item.

Bay Area
by Jahanshah Javid on Wed Feb 25, 2009 01:56 PM PSTIranian Reader! I love the offer. I can be easily bought -- and I'm very very cheap :o)
As much as I love the Bay Area, the rest of the world is so much more appealing. In theory at least. Reality will kick me hard sooner or later. Let's see where I land next!
Wait a minute!
by Iranian Reader on Wed Feb 25, 2009 12:48 PM PSTYou're not moving back but you WILL be there for the event, right?
And why aren't you moving back?
If we buy a multi-unit building and give you an apartment, will you move back? (That's my economic depression fantasty -- but hey, don't knock informed fantasies!)
I'll be there and
by Monda on Wed Feb 25, 2009 08:14 AM PSTI think the auction idea is fantastic. Let me know when you need the auction items by.
Hey does this mean you and Robert will be there too!?

by Jahanshah Javid on Tue Feb 24, 2009 03:09 PM PSTThanks for your offer Majid Jan. Will do it for the next benefit event.
Sakht nist BABA!
by Majid on Tue Feb 24, 2009 03:03 PM PSTDo it online, and YOU don't have to ask people to donate!
I'll start a blog about it soon, All these photographers, calligraphers, etc...they can respond.
You or the admin. can post them here and people can bid.
Sakhteh
by Jahanshah Javid on Tue Feb 24, 2009 02:49 PM PSTOrganizing an auction is no easy task. It takes a lot of coordination. We did one last year and we had more than ten artists who donated their art. But we cannot ask them to be so generous every year. Porrooee ham haddee daareh :o)
جهنم! من واسه خودت گفتم.......
MajidTue Feb 24, 2009 02:33 PM PST
No!
by Jahanshah Javid on Tue Feb 24, 2009 02:19 PM PSTI'm not going to move back to Frisco Majid Jan. Not for a very long time. And the only new talents we are looking for is performing artists.
So......
by Majid on Tue Feb 24, 2009 01:02 PM PSTDoes that mean you're moving back to Frisco? or coming just for this event?
Also, is this event limited to performing arts? or exhibition for other types of art (painting, photography, calligraphy.......) would be considered as well?

Princess is quite funny
by Anahid Hojjati on Tue Feb 24, 2009 05:02 AM PSTPrincess is quite funny when she says that she has to come up with a talent. I also agree with Nazy that "with or without talent, I'll be there."
Jahanshah
by Nazy Kaviani on Tue Feb 24, 2009 04:46 AM PSTDoes this mean that your practice sessions with the Mariachi band have been going really well?!
Our belly dancing team is recruiting as we speak. Volunteers should speak up immediately!
With or without talent, I'll be there!
Brilliant!
by Princess on Tue Feb 24, 2009 04:38 AM PSTSounds like a great idea. Now I have to come up with a talent.
