I collected stamps when I was a kid. That was it. Maybe I'm still a collector at heart, collecting everything Iranian in iranian.com. But Danny Contratti, now there's a serious collector. He's turned his entire home into a museum of American memorabilia.

When I was in the San Francisco Bay Area a couple of weeks ago for the iranian.com comedy show, organized by our dear friend Monda, I wanted to take some pictures of the beautiful blooming gardens for Norooz. I asked Monda if she knew of a good area.

As we were walking in a Fairfax residential area we suddenly discovered Contratti's private museum. He welcomed us into his home where every inch was covered in American pop culture items and consumer product containers, from Elvis lunchboxes to old 7up bottles and bicycles >>> Photos

Wow, my suggestion to donate these items to the Smithsonian American Museum of Cultural History was deleted.

Not sure why, but obviously, you did not like that suggestion.
