Family video: 21 Years Ago

When I left Iran for good in December 1989, I settled in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where many of my relatives were living at the time. My cousin's son Saied found a video of one of our family gatherings from around spring 1990 and posted it on YouTube.

I'm thinking of growing that beard again. Not! :)

Actually, I already knew that you knew.  Have you seen Nothing Hill?

Souri: Hugh Bonneville as Bernie: He does not recognize Anna Scott upon meeting her.

Comments: Emma Chambers Will's younger sister, she is a fan of Anna Scott.

Not really

by Souri on

Dear comment,

Actually I already knew that the lady couldn't be Mahdieh's mom. But that was a way to throw the question about the lady in blue, who seemed to be very close to JJ. I knew that was not Javaneh, neither.  I was so curious to know who she was (so close to my dear JJ) that I was jealous :)) but didn't want to ask a direct question!

You are very smart!

Did you really think that Mahdieh's mother was in that crowd? Haven't you taken Iranian.com 101 yet? My main interest in Iranian.com started from JJ's briliant / daring life story.

p.s. I didn't exagerate or touch balls here.

You are a really lucky man.  You had family when you arrived.  Most don't have such a great opportunity.  You had many other advantages compared to new comers.  You were also a Journalist.  A big plus in networking.

Family

by Jahanshah Javid on

Thanks Souri.

I'm glad the video survived all these years.

I was divorced by then and Mahdiyeh's mother was in Iran.

People in the video include my sister Michell, my cousins, their kids, my aunt (khakleh) and uncle (daee) ...

Souri

Great video!

I love watching family videos. This one was very nice to see.

But you didn't explain who is who.

That lady in blue, is really Wow!!!

Is she Mahdieh's mom? Then : WooooooooW!!

Who are the two babies?

One is with the lady in blue (is she Mahdieh?) and the other one is with the American lady (changing diaper)

Very happy family.

Best wishes for you and the whole family. JJ.
