I drove into Yellowstone park from West Yellowstone yesterday and five minutes later saw a gorgeous blue river in a field of green over a sky of jet blue! I stopped and jumped in... with bare feet. Well, the sharp rocks make it so hard to stand that I... watch for yourself! About 15 miles ahead, just before Old Faithful geysers in Wyoming, a deer as tall as a horse was grazing by the side of the road with a long line of cars watching. I got out of the car and started filming as the deer (?) slowly came closer. It's really, really, wild out here...

Good work AO, finally:)
by comments on Sun Jul 10, 2011 01:32 PM PDTI liked Khar-ahoo at first, then realized I don't like to call her a name. Still, you have my vote.
I really liked AO. In such a blog (i.e. subject) he changed the subject so smoothly and pleasant.
Speaking of giant deer
by Anonymous Observer on Sun Jul 10, 2011 09:17 AM PDTI was coming back from a run the other night, and a deer jumped out in front of me right in front of my house. I couldn't tell what it was for a second becuase it was so dark, and the thing was so big, for a second I thought it was a small cow, but then I realized it was a deer. It was HUGE. A very well nourished white tail doe. But it really startled me.
I guess though it was better than it being a coyote (which we also have plenty of around our home).
:)))))
by Jahanshah Javid on Sun Jul 10, 2011 07:16 AM PDTFaramarz I'm laughing so hard in my motel room in Dubois, Wyoming! There's commenuity BBQ here today. I'll tell people about your suggestions just as a conversation piece. I'll camouflage myself and say I'm Persian :p
How about Yahoo?
by Faramarz on Sun Jul 10, 2011 07:09 AM PDTYaboo + Ahoo = Yahoo!
or Yavazn
Yaboo + Gavazn = Yavazn
Khar Ahoo
by Jahanshah Javid on Sun Jul 10, 2011 06:42 AM PDTI like your suggestion AO! Why not!
Thanks for correcting me. I wouldn't know the difference between deer, elk, and the like. I think I would recognize a moose though I didn't see one on this trip.
May I suggest a Persian name for elk?
by Anonymous Observer on Sun Jul 10, 2011 06:32 AM PDTYou call that elk a Gavazn. I believe that Gavazn is a a buck, a male deer. Since there are no elks in Iran, I do not believe that we have a Persian name for the animal. So, can I auggest one?
I was thinking about it, and the best one that I could come up with was "khar-ahoo." What do you think?
That's not a deer
by Anonymous Observer on Sun Jul 10, 2011 06:02 AM PDTIt's a female elk:

As far as deer, I get them in my backyard all the time. I think that there's a spot near my house that they have their fawn in the spring. I see the does (mothers) being trailed by them all the time. Beautiful animals. They do inflict a lot of damage on my vegetable garden thogh. I haven't yet been able to convince them that it's not a buffet that I have set up for them. :-))
oh, yes, comments

Throw the other one
by divaneh on Fri Jul 08, 2011 02:26 PM PDTLooks like a beautiful place. You are not going to have any use for the remaining slipper. Throw that one in the river too in the hope that someone finds both of them.
Laugh some more!

by Jahanshah Javid on Fri Jul 08, 2011 12:57 PM PDTRea, actually I can't do any of those things. Why change a tire when AAA will do it for free? :)
Great entertainment!
by Nazy Kaviani on Fri Jul 08, 2011 12:55 PM PDTThanks for sharing Jahanshah! Ya'ani, mordam az khandeh! Sorry about your dampaee.
Your adventures in Yellowstone National Park reminded me of Yogi Bear at "Jellystone Park" and his referring to himself as "smarter than the average bear!" Ba ejaazeh, I think I will laugh about this for years to come!
Miss you here already!
looool for the first video ;o))
by Rea on Fri Jul 08, 2011 12:55 PM PDTJJ, would you be able to put up a tent, change a tyre, or light bulb for that matter? ;o)
Dear Deer :)
by Jahanshah Javid on Fri Jul 08, 2011 12:43 PM PDTFaramarz, you should see me with a herd of Buffaloes before you judge! Photo essay coming up.
The Call of Nature!
by Faramarz on Fri Jul 08, 2011 12:36 PM PDTJJ,
You are definitely more of a deer person than a horse person. The deer warmed up to you nicely and did not show you her derriere!
The river clip was fun too. I was expecting to see you pull out the soap and shampoo and have a bath in nature. At this rate, I can see what might happen tomorrow.
Day 5- Somewhere between Montana and N. Dakota and in the middle of nowhere, JJ pulls to the side of the road and answers the call of nature!
I need to get a life

Looking forward to your Yellowstone photo essay!
Don't forget to visit Mammoth Hot Springs!
Good JJ, you should be careful
