For the past ten days I've been in Rochester Hills, Michigan, about an hour north of Detroit. My sister Michelle has a house here and she came over from Mexico to rent it. (I was supposed to be helping but I've been working online all day while she swept, cleaned and scrubbed!)

The house on Walnut Grove is more like a cabin sitting on 2 acres of beautiful land. It has four bedrooms and an independent in-law unit. She's asking $2,400 a month for it. A bargain if you ask me. If you live in the area and looking for a place, let me know.

The in-law unit is my favorite. It's empty, like the rest of the house. But my late mother used to live in it and she left artistic marks here and there.

As I spook to some michiganian friends all agreed the area is awsome,with friendly neighbors unlike detroit and by the way 1056 walnut...... next door is on the market for $ 650 k.         Maziar

My mom was living in France until 3 years ago. she had brought her electric korsi from Iran to France!! She was using it all winter at her house in France......lol

DK, YBK is right.  A colleague of mine just bought a relatively new house (a foreclosure) north of 118 freeway and he was told that the area was the shooting ground of Little House.

Yes I know they were only fighting on purpose for the show. Actually the series are considered as a Cult here in France and has Re Runs ...

The acress playing Nellie has even toured in France for a one women show where she plays entirely in "broken" French.

Dear Darius, the video that you posted was great.  However, in real life, actresses who played Laura and Nellie were very good friends. I think we are kind of drifting from JJ's blog but I guess that is fine.  I used to watch the show growing up in Iran and even now I watch the reruns.

Little House on the Prairie was filmed on the hills north of Chatsworth (North of Freeway 118 in Los Angeles). In regards to the house in Walnut Grove, I agree rent is high. Few miles to the south (Detriot) you can buy single family houses or lots for $2,500.

BTW: My sister has a condo to sell in Orlando, 10 mn to Disney. It's a 3 beds and 2 bath, 1200 square feet, with all the accommodation like pool, Spa, tennis court, Sona ....etc etc, good for investment. Short term rental works well.
