Road trip

Road trip
by Jahanshah Javid
23-Oct-2008

My road trip to Mexico has officially, most definitely started. Kinda.

I was supposed to leave on Monday for Los Angeles. But here I am sitting at Upper Crust Pizza in Santa Cruz, about an hour south of San Francisco.

I spent the night at Foaad & Kholood's place. Foaad is iranian.com's chief techie and he's getting his PhD in computer science. With his help I got a reallllllllly nice MacBook Pro Aluminum. It's so gorgeous :o) ... But I'm still working on my old computer because I haven't transferred my files to the new one yet.

I've been working on iranian.com and eating for past three hours (two slices of pizza, spaghetti, salad, a beer, two cokes). I'm just wasting time... Raftam beh sooye sarnevesht!

Can u do us a favor? Take a few of these islamists with you and leave them in mexico! They can lecture the mexicans on islam and iran rids of them at the same time. That is a win-win for both islamists and our beloved country.

Please be very careful when you cross the border. Gas up the car before you cross and don't stop until you are as far south of Tijuana as possible.

Jahanshah Javid

Sweetest

by Jahanshah Javid on

You people are way too sweet! I'm here in north LA reading all your kind wishes and comments. I'll keep y'all posted from time to time.

PS: As I was driving down here, I saw a painted red sign on a barn fence for "garlic ice cream". It was somewhere near Gilroy, which claims to be the "garlic capital of the world". I was in a hurry to get to LA or else I would have taken a picture. Just picture it! There were no other significant incidents.

Oh! I stopped at Carl's Junior to have one of those big burgers they advertise. The poster for the bacon and guacamole burger looked huge! I said give me one of these, as water dripped from my lab-o-locheh.

Well, the burger was only half the size of the one on the poster... sheeesh! :o)

Then as I was testing my blue-tooth ear piece (in California you can't drive and talk on your mobile phone) I called Majid, our LA party organizer, about ten times by mistake!

I couldn't hear his voice for some reason. Then when the call finally went through, I didn't know who I was talking to (we had never spoken before)! Then he mentioned his wife's name and then dozaareem khord to mokham!

So Majid jan, if I sounded weird on the phone, now you know why :o)))

Taking a trip . . .

by Nasrin Sasanpour on

is always so nice & refreshing . . . new perspectives and fresh
experiences will abound, showing up your way not easily possible
when in the same locale day after day . . . . So you are going to have
a great time.

How many out there wishes to be in your
place?! I, for one, would have loved to be able to pick up and go
the way you have had a chance to. So enjoy yourself & keep us
updated very regulary; we love to hear about your whereabouts as you go
through this journey.

<> All that said, we, in the Bay Area,
are going to really miss seeing your friendly face & very nice
smile in places & events. So, don't stay away too long
. . . .

P.S. take it easy on all that carb & beer.
You have worked hard and are looking great in your trimmer version.

Jeesh Daram

well wishing

by Jeesh Daram on

Dear Jahanshah:

Like everyone else, I am very happy for you and wishing you well.

Thanks to modern technology we are only a click of the mouse, an email away. Your
relocation will certainly be a great experience for you and your entire
fans. I will be looking forward to your travelogue, images and updates,
your new innovations, creations and literary thoughts.

You have made a great imprint among the Iranians all over the world and one way
to look at it would be that as you travel, you might be getting farther from
some, but somehow closer to another group of your fans that are scattered
around the globe.

I am also conveying the same goodwill from the other "anonymous"
names and multiple personalities that I use and am battling with and they wanted me to say “hi” to you.

Stay healthy and take care

Positive signs

by bahram9821 on

I look at JJ move to Mexico as a very positive event for all of us. Look at all the Positive signs, he has already got a new MacBook Pro, he is going to trade in his Instead Polaroid Camera for a digital, that means we are going to get a much sharper pictures of Mexico. He is also going to stay with his sister, I would kill to have chance to live with my sister .He is going to be eating much healthier, living in a much nicer home in a warmer climate. The way I see it if he is happy we are going to be happy. Good luck JJ and take care, we are waiting for the next update.

Persian New Year 2008

Smoking a cigarette outside the hotel in San Jose!

bound by these four corners of life
now an attempt to change
take these chances like pills
but the cure is on the road
don't stop where the road leads
look around the corner, each an every four corner
you might find a fifth or more
greet those shadows, the smells, smiles that bring this world together

Khoda Negahdar!
