Room With a Meow

I had to leave Chile because Americans can stay for just three months without a visa, so I thought where next? Buenos Aires was only a short flight away (hour an a half). And what a city! I've hardly seen anything yet but based on what I've seen it's pretty grand [photo essay: Solo Tango]. Romantic. If someone told me I was in Rome or Paris of Barcelona, I'd believe it. Oddly enough, it feels a lot like Tehran too, minus the madness. For the first three days I was in a hostel and then I found a room in an old house. With a sweet, whining, cat:

Ali A Parsa

JJ also stands for Jonooneh Javani!

Please think of us when we cope with lack of technical support when we interact with IC. This is not acceptable especially when you have a seemingly full feldged American citizen as technical assistance. True that one of your mission's purpose is bringing the nations together, but who cares about that if we need help here. In other words Charity begins at home! Your Jonooneh Javani can always be pursued later.

As an example, every time I make this space to make a comment or write a blog I am faced with an unwanted text I once used.

Please think about this or consult your cat!

Sincerely,

Dr. Ali A. Parsa

Thanks AO

Thanks for the tips AO. It's certainly a happening place. Will definitely check the places you recommended. I was actually thinking that there must be an Iranian restaurant in this huge city. I'll find it, sooner or later :)

I wish I knew you were going there

I would have hooked you up dude.  Nice accomodations in a great part of town at a discounted rate.  I have connections there.  Have been there a couple of times. Great city.  Recoleta is awesome.  The port area is also nice.  They have built it up with nice restaurants, etc.  Also, don't forget to visit the antique market.  It's either on Saturday or Sunday.  I forgot which one.  You may also want to hop on the boat and visit Uruguay while you're there.

Email me if you have questions or need information / help while you're there.  I can get you good local advice.

PS- there's a Middle Eastern restaurant there that has a map of Iran on its sign right above the entrance, colored with the map of Iran.  I forgot which area it's on, but try to find it.

meowing

by Jahanshah Javid on

Thanks Nazy. The cat is meowing for food, but he's been put on a special diet. Also he wants to go out onto the roof. I wasn't sure if he was allowed up there but the house manager says it's ok.

Looks like Buenos Aires is going to be a special experience. I'm looking forward to it :)

A very cute cat! I think I detected an Argentinian accent in that meow! I can tell you what he is saying in cat language: "Feed me!" Now, proceed with care, because if you feed him, he will never go away.

I believe finding a cat in your living quarters signifies what great luck you are going to have in 2012! It is going to be your year.

Enjoy the beauty and the excitement that is Buenos Aires and share whenever you can!
