The mountain
The stream
The flower
The dirt
The hand
The heat
The heart
The ache
The stars
The gaze
The gift
For eternity

I don't if it's me or what...
by Nur-i-Azal on Thu Apr 15, 2010 12:29 AM PDTBut contemporary Persian poetry just doesn't have the umpth and depth of the classical genre. Between us, no offense to anyone, after Malaku-Shu'ara Bahar poetry in Persian literature simply goes downhill. To me, most of this material sounds like really cheesey '60s Beat material but in Persian. Berate me all you like, but that's my opinion. Rudaki, Hafiz, Mowlana, Ferdowsi, Jami, Sa'di, Baba Taher, et al, stand head, shoulders and light years ahead of much of what sounds like airheaded, pseudo-existentialist genres of contemporary Persian verse. But then again, I am old school with my Persian literature. That said, I've seen some amazing material come out of the khanaqahs over the years as well...

aboli_moezziWed Apr 14, 2010 05:39 AM PDT
nice one at that
by Monda on Wed Apr 14, 2010 04:55 AM PDTmuch better than mine anyway :o)
